2025 Baycurrent Classic Free Picks
The PGA Tour FedEx Cup Fall continues this weekend with a return trip to Japan for the Baycurrent Classic. Previously known as the Zozo Championship, this event has now shifted venues to the Yokohama Country Club in Kanagawa, right outside Tokyo.
Plus, this stop continues to offer players critical FedEx Cup points to improve their standing for next season.
This Week on the PGA Tour
This event marks the PGA Tour’s lone stop in Japan and is co-sanctioned by the Japan Golf Tour Organization, allowing some of the best players in Japan to compete alongside pros from the PGA Tour. In fact, last year Yuta Sugiura was the top Japanese finisher at T6.
Meanwhile, this week’s field is made up of 78 players, with invitations extended to the top 60 players from last season’s FedEx Cup standings, the top eight players from the Japan Golf Tour’s money list, the winner of the BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup, and nine sponsor exemptions.
As a result, this event — the third of the FedEx Cup Fall — draws a high-quality field thanks to the largest purse of the fall schedule, coming in at $2 million more than the majority of fall events.
Last Year
Last year, Nico Echavarria emerged from a loaded field to win this tournament when it was still known as the Zozo Championship. Notably, the native of Colombia had previously won only once on Tour, in the 2023 Puerto Rico Open.
He fired a closing-round 67 to outlast Justin Thomas and Max Greyserman by just one stroke for the title.
However, Thomas struggled with his putter on the back nine on Sunday, while Greyserman got into trouble on the 72nd hole after hitting a wayward tee shot off the right side of the fairway.
Even so, he battled back for a 24-foot putt attempt that would have forced a playoff with Echavarria — but he came up empty on that attempt.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Echavarria calmly set himself up with a three-foot attempt for the win on the final hole, and he knocked it down to clinch his second career victory on Tour.

2025 Baycurrent Classic Free Picks – PGA Golf
Looking for sharp bets? If so, here are a few golfers offering real value this week at the 2025 Baycurrent Classic.
2025 Baycurrent Classic Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Hideki Matsuyama +1800
For starters, Matsuyama won here in 2021 and arrives in Japan this year in good form off a T13 at the BMW PGA Championship a few weeks ago.
Furthermore, the Japanese native returns home for this one looking to contend as one of the top players in a quality field.
2025 Baycurrent Classic Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Garrick Higgo +3300
Additionally, Higgo very nearly came away with his third career PGA Tour victory at the Sanderson Farms Championship in his last start, settling for a second-place finish after leading most of the weekend.
Before that, he was T7 in his prior start, so the South African arrives in Japan clearly in good form.
Betting Odds: Gary Woodland +5500
Similarly, Woodland started his fall schedule with a T19 at the Procore Championship, marking his third consecutive top-25 finish.
Although he hasn’t won on Tour since the 2019 U.S. Open, he’s beginning to rediscover that championship form — and he hopes to carry that momentum with him to Japan.
Betting Odds: Eric Cole +6500
Finally, Cole has really enjoyed his trips to Japan. Over the last two years at the Zozo Championship, he’s finished T2 and T6. While that success came at Narashino Country Club, he’ll look to bring those same vibes to this tournament’s new home.
Indeed, he arrives in solid form off a T10 in his last start at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
