The 49ers got absolutely rinsed by the Chiefs but were without many of their starters on defence. Nonetheless they did not look good but the Chiefs can do that to anyone.
The Rams are coming off a much needed BYE week as they have continued to struggle this season. A week off could be just what the doctor ordered.
I am not a believer in this Rams team whatsoever, they do not have depth at defence and despite the talent on offence they have been an absolute disaster. But they do have the talent, and an excellent coaching staff so it’s hard to completely write them off.
The 49ers are coming off a blowout loss but this team is quietly a top two team in the NFC for me bested only by the Eagles. They have little to no weakness in their lineup after acquiring Christian McCaffrey.
Their issue right now is obviously the injury bug, they lost too many key people at the worst time so we have to keep an eye on that.
But otherwise, this is a good football team so let’s look a little closer.
San Francisco 49ers
Now the 49ers analytics do not really align with my claim of them being the second best team in the NFC LOL, but make no mistake about it this team is great.
When the offence is clicking and Kyle is getting his calls in it’s a thing of beauty to watch. As is the defence.
Unfortunately for this squad however they got the injury bug real bad and are going to be without many key players for various amounts of time. Many of their studs have been listed as questionable for this Sunday’s game including star receiver Deebo Samuel and Arik Armstead.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are truly a mess right now on both sides of the ball and it’s a miracle they’re .500, but they have two solid numbers in important team metrics.
They are second in the league in opponents red zone scoring (33%) and 5th in the league at allowing yards per game (301.3).
With Deebo out and fullback Kyle Juszczyk, two of San Fran’s top red zone options, that could spell a little trouble for veteran play caller Kyle Shanahan.

I am on the fade the Rams train until further notice. Even at home as pups in this one with McVay at the helm off a BYE I cannot in good conscience take the Rams.
The main reason for me is even with the injuries on defence some of which should be mended prior to Sunday, the 49ers defence will pose far too many problems for the Rams offence that has looked abysmal against even mediocre opponents.
Stafford is a lock to throw an interception every game. He’s thrown eight this year in 6 games and since 2020 he has thrown 9 pick 6’s, double anyone else in the NFL.
Therefore, I like the 49ers in this spot on the moneyline to get to .500 themselves, which is a poor record for this team that I do not think reflect the true strength of this squad.
