2026 NFL Handicapping – New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles
Here’s why I’m backing an UNDER bet below in my Giants Eagles free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Giants vs. Eagles Gameday
The New York Giants visit the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9 of the 2026 NFL season on Sunday, November 8. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM ET at Lincoln Financial Field, with FOX carrying this NFC East matchup.
John Harbaugh’s Giants enter at 4-2-1 following their Week 8 bye. New York has gone 1-1-1 on the road and has an opportunity to strengthen its division position.
New York has the better record, while Philadelphia is running out of time to rescue its season.
Brian Schottenheimer’s Eagles are 2-6 after dropping six straight games. Their 1-3 home record hasn’t helped a franchise accustomed to considerably better football.
Philadelphia has struggled since losing Jalen Hurts, and the pressure keeps mounting. Another division loss would make an ugly season even worse.
The Giants haven’t won in Philadelphia since 2013. Harbaugh would certainly enjoy ending that drought in his first season.
It’s Week 9, New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles, hopefully we get a great matchup.

New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds & Previous Games
The Giants are favored at -176 on the moneyline, with Philadelphia returning +147. New York is laying 3.5 points, while the Eagles are getting the points at home.
The total is 40 points, with both sides priced at -110. That’s a modest number for a divisional matchup featuring two teams heading in opposite directions.
New York defeated Houston 27-21 in overtime before its bye. The Giants previously lost 34-27 to New Orleans, tied Washington 27-27 and beat Arizona 36-24 and Tennessee 12-7.
Philadelphia’s recent results have been ugly. The Eagles lost 27-10 to Washington, 38-21 to Dallas and 25-14 to Carolina, extending a miserable losing streak.
The Eagles won the last meeting at Lincoln Financial Field 38-20 in 2025. New York answered with a 34-17 home victory later that season, splitting the series.
Philadelphia has dominated this rivalry at home for over a decade. The Giants have an opportunity to change that, although winning here has rarely been straightforward.

Eagles Stats From Last Week
Philadelphia ranks last in the NFL with 265.3 offensive yards per game. The Eagles also average just 17.1 points, making sustained production a weekly struggle.
Saquon Barkley leads the rushing attack with 274 yards and 2 TDs. Those numbers are nowhere near what Philadelphia expects from its featured back.
DeVonta Smith remains an important receiving weapon, although a hamstring injury has complicated matters. The Eagles need more consistent production from their remaining targets.
Defensively, Philadelphia allows approximately 367 yards per game. Opponents have regularly found room to operate, particularly when the Eagles fail to generate pressure.
Philadelphia has recorded 10 sacks and 3 interceptions through eight games. Jalen Carter and Zack Baun remain important contributors, but this defense needs considerably more disruption.
The Eagles have also struggled against the run, allowing approximately 132 rushing yards per game.
That’s another problem for a defense already spending too much time on the field.
Injuries remain a concern, with Hurts unavailable and several offensive weapons battling problems. Smith, Dontayvion Wicks and Barkley missed Wednesday’s practice.
Jihaad Campbell, Michael Carter and Jonathan Jones were among the defensive absences. Philadelphia needs better health almost as badly as another victory.
Giants Stats From Last Week
New York averages 23.3 points and 346 total yards per game. The Giants have developed a more balanced offense, although consistency remains a work in progress.
Malik Nabers leads the receivers with 48 catches for 605 yards and 2 TDs. His ability to create separation gives New York a legitimate downfield threat.
Cam Skattebo leads the rushing attack with 418 yards and 2 TDs. His physical running style has helped establish an identity for Harbaugh’s offense.
Against Houston, New York rushed for 188 yards and scored four rushing touchdowns. That performance showed what the Giants can accomplish when their blocking creates opportunities.
Defensively, New York has been considerably stronger against the pass than the run. That imbalance creates difficult decisions when opponents establish their ground attack.
Micah McFadden and Arvell Reese are important defensive contributors. Their ability to contain Philadelphia’s rushing attack could help create favorable passing situations.
Injuries remain a concern, with Skattebo battling a hamstring issue. He missed Wednesday’s practice, while Abdul Carter was absent because of illness.
Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor were limited by groin and calf injuries. New York needs its offensive line healthy against Philadelphia’s defensive front.
Giants vs. Eagles QB Matchup
Tanner McKee has taken over Philadelphia’s offense following Hurts’ season-ending injury. Through three appearances, McKee has thrown for 638 yards, 2 TDs and 2 interceptions.
Those numbers reflect an offense struggling to establish consistency. McKee has shown occasional promise, but his decision-making under pressure remains a concern.
Philadelphia needs him working through his progressions quickly. The Giants’ secondary can punish quarterbacks who force throws into coverage.
McKee participated fully in Wednesday’s practice despite a chest issue. His availability is encouraging, although the surrounding offensive injuries remain troublesome.
New York counters with J.J. McCarthy, who has thrown for 495 yards, 1 TD and 1 interception in three appearances. His first Giants start came against Houston before the bye.
McCarthy brings mobility and the ability to extend plays, although he’s still developing chemistry with his receivers. Harbaugh has an opportunity to build on his latest performance.
The Eagles will look to pressure McCarthy and force hurried decisions. Philadelphia cannot afford to give him comfortable throwing lanes all afternoon.

McCarthy benefits from an offense capable of supporting him on the ground. That balance can create manageable passing situations and reduce unnecessary risks.
McKee faces a tougher assignment with Philadelphia’s offensive production declining. The Eagles need efficient execution rather than asking him to compensate for every weakness.
Both quarterbacks are relatively inexperienced in their current roles. Preparation and execution will matter, particularly when drives reach critical situations.
New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles bottom line: McCarthy has the stronger supporting cast, while McKee must overcome Philadelphia’s offensive limitations against a dangerous Giants secondary.

Giants Eagles Free Pick: Under 40
Here is my Giants Eagles free pick: I’m betting Giants Eagles Under 40 (-110). Philadelphia has scored 14 points or fewer in two of its last three games, and I’m not buying a sudden offensive revival against a division rival. Six straight losses don’t disappear because somebody delivers a fiery locker-room speech. The Giants have the better record, but I’m not expecting John Harbaugh to turn this into a scoring contest.
Coming off a bye, New York can afford to be patient rather than chase big plays and give Philadelphia cheap possessions.
Here’s what I like about the number. A 20-17 or 21-17 finish cashes this bet, and neither offense needs to completely collapse to keep the total below 40.
I’m betting on stalled drives and field goals, not two offenses suddenly discovering their inner greatness.
The biggest threat is a defensive touchdown or a turnover that hands somebody the ball inside the 20. Keep those gifts off the scoreboard, and both teams should have to earn their points the hard way. I’m expecting a game where the clock becomes more important than the highlight reel. Neither coaching staff has much incentive to gamble on unnecessary fourth downs or force an aggressive passing game when field position can keep things manageable.
There’s no need to get cute with this one.
Give me an ugly NFC East afternoon, a few frustrated quarterbacks and a scoreboard that stays below the number.
I’m betting Under 40 (-110).
