Patriots vs. Saints Gameday
To kick off Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season, the New England Patriots head south to the Caesars Superdome to face the New Orleans Saints. Mike Vrabel’s Patriots have been road warriors so far, posting a perfect 2-0 record away from home.
Meanwhile, Kellen Moore’s Saints are trying to shake off a 1-4 start and regain confidence.
New England has looked sharp recently. They pulled off a 23-20 win over Buffalo in Week 5, leaning on poise and efficiency in crunch time.
Across the field, the Saints finally found some life of their own, beating the Giants 26-14 for a much-needed morale boost.
Historically, these teams have traded wins over the years. The Saints last took down the Patriots in dominant fashion — a 34-0 blowout back in 2023 — but New England has also had success in this building, including a 2017 win at the Superdome.
With both teams trending upward, this one has “grind-it-out” written all over it.
Week 6 — New England Patriots vs. New Orleans Saints — should be a fascinating clash of old-school grit and offensive creativity.

New England Patriots vs. New Orleans Saints Odds & Last 5
The betting line tilts toward New England. The Patriots sit at -189 on the moneyline and -3.5 on the spread, signaling they’re slight road favorites. The Saints are +158, aiming to prove oddsmakers wrong inside the dome.
The Patriots have built momentum on the road, winning their last two games away from Gillette Stadium. Their narrow victory over Buffalo showed resilience under pressure.
On the other side, the Saints’ home win over the Giants gave them a spark after early losses to the Bills and Seahawks slowed their start.
Historically, New Orleans’ 2023 rout over New England still lingers in memory, but Vrabel’s Patriots have improved considerably since then.
That backdrop adds intrigue — and maybe a little revenge factor — heading into Sunday’s matchup.
Saints Stats
The New Orleans Saints enter Week 6 riding a little momentum after their win over the Giants. Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler played efficiently, completing 225 yards and a touchdown in that 26-14 victory. For a team that desperately needed a spark, it was a step in the right direction.
Offensively, the Saints continue to work through inconsistencies. Last year, they ranked 23rd in both scoring and passing, though their rushing attack sat a respectable 14th.
Alvin Kamara remains the heartbeat of the ground game with 283 rushing yards, ranking 19th in the league.
Defensively, there’s real bite. The Saints finished last season sixth in interceptions (14) and 10th in sacks, proving they can disrupt quarterbacks. However, allowing too many big plays — 30th in total yards surrendered — has been their Achilles’ heel.
Injuries add another obstacle. Justin Reid and Isaac Yiadom are both day-to-day, while Will Clapp and Julian Blackmon are already out for the season.
Nevertheless, Moore’s squad hopes to build on last week’s win and keep clawing toward respectability.

Patriots Stats
The Patriots come into Week 6 with confidence — and a little swagger. Back-to-back wins, capped by a 23-20 triumph over Buffalo, have put them above .500 at 3-2. Rookie quarterback Drake Maye continues to settle in nicely, tossing for 273 yards in that game while showing veteran-level composure.
Offensively, New England still has room to grow. They ranked last in passing a year ago but remain effective on the ground, finishing 13th in rushing yards. Rhamondre Stevenson continues to carry the load, totaling 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns so far this season.
Defensively, the Patriots bring pressure and opportunism. They ranked 12th in interceptions last season and continue to force turnovers in key moments.
Cornerback Marcus Jones has been everywhere, notching an interception and seven tackles against the Bills to seal the deal.
Injuries, however, could test their depth. Antonio Gibson is out for the year with a knee injury, while K’Lavon Chaisson is questionable.
Even so, Vrabel’s team has shown discipline and balance — a combination that travels well.
We want to hear from you below! Comments are welcome — give us your picks for this New England Patriots vs. New Orleans Saints NFL matchup.
Patriots vs. Saints QB Matchup
Spencer Rattler continues to grow into his role as the Saints’ starter. Through five games, he’s thrown for 990 yards and six touchdowns while keeping mistakes to a minimum with just one interception. His decision-making has been impressive for a rookie still adjusting to NFL speed.
For this matchup, Rattler projects for about 204 passing yards and 1.3 touchdowns. He also adds mobility, averaging 24 rushing yards per game — something that could help extend drives against New England’s pressure defense.
Drake Maye, meanwhile, has been everything New England hoped for and more. He’s totaled 1,261 passing yards — fifth in the league — along with seven touchdowns and just two interceptions.
His poise and accuracy have kept the Patriots’ offense on schedule and dangerous.
In this game, Maye projects for roughly 226 passing yards and 1.4 touchdowns while adding another 20+ on the ground. His ability to stretch plays and stay calm under pressure will be vital as the Patriots look to extend their road streak.
New England Patriots vs. New Orleans Saints bottom line: A sure fire way for the Patriots’ to win is Maye’s maturity has to be the difference maker. Vrabel’s crew can walk out of the Superdome with another hard-fought win if they follow Maye’s lead.
New England Patriots vs. New Orleans Saints Football Betting Trends

- Additionally, the Patriots have a perfect 4-0 record in the last four games going over the total after a loss.
- The Patriots have won all three of their recent games straight up after a loss.
- The Saints have gone over the total in their last three games as underdogs.

- The Saints have won two of their last three games straight up when favored.
Patriots vs Saints Prediction: Over 46
Here’s our Patriots Saints free pick. This Week 6 matchup at the Caesars Superdome has all the ingredients for a high-scoring affair. The Patriots have been reliable for bettors backing the over, as the total has gone OVER in their last four games following a loss — a clear sign they bounce back offensively when needing a response.
Additionally, New England has been part of several high-scoring cross-conference games, with the total going OVER in five of their last six against NFC opponents. That trend should continue indoors, where weather won’t be a factor and tempo can stay high throughout.
Meanwhile, the Saints have gone OVER in four of their last six overall and in eight of their last twelve meetings against the Patriots — showing this matchup historically leans to the high side.
Moreover, New Orleans tends to open up offensively when labeled the underdog, going OVER in each of their last three such situations. With Derek Carr finding a rhythm and Alvin Kamara providing balance, the Saints should do their part to push the total upward.
Given both teams’ recent over trends and the ideal indoor conditions, the over 46 looks like the right side.
I’m projecting both offenses trade scores and send this total beyond the number by the third quarter. Rest easy friends.
