Texans vs. Jaguars Gameday
The Houston Texans meet the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Wembley Stadium in London. Kickoff is set for 9:30 AM ET, or 2:30 PM local time, on NFL Network. Houston enters this Week 6 AFC South matchup at 1-4, while Jacksonville leads the division at 4-1.
DeMeco Ryans’ Texans finally broke through after opening with four consecutive losses. Houston has split its first two road games and needs to carry its improved defensive intensity overseas.
The Texans cannot afford another division loss with Jacksonville already three games ahead in the standings.
Houston needs its defense to dictate the terms, while Jacksonville has an opportunity to extend its division lead.
Liam Coen’s Jaguars are playing their second consecutive game in London after beating Philadelphia at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Jacksonville is the designated home team this week, but Wembley presents a different setting from its regular home field.
Jacksonville has extensive experience in England, and its preparation schedule is already established after spending the previous week overseas. Houston is making its second London appearance, having faced these same Jaguars in 2019. Familiarity helps with the routine, although execution still decides the football game.
The Jaguars have the stronger early record, but Ryans’ defense gives Houston a chance to challenge the division leaders.
Week 6, Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Odds & Previous Games
The opening odds list Jacksonville as a 2.5-point favorite with a -145 moneyline, while Houston is +121. The total is 42.5 points. Despite the gap in records, the short spread suggests a competitive division matchup.
Houston defeated Tennessee 26-3 last week after losing 34-30 to Dallas and 19-17 to Indianapolis. The Texans opened the season with losses to Cincinnati, 20-6, and Buffalo, 36-31.
Houston has scored 26 or more points three times but has also been held below 20 twice.
Jacksonville defeated Philadelphia 19-17 and Cincinnati 22-17 after beating New England 35-6. The Jaguars’ only loss came against Denver, 20-13, following a 34-10 opening victory over Cleveland.
Houston won the most recent meeting 36-29 in November 2025 after overcoming a 19-point fourth-quarter deficit. Jacksonville won the earlier meeting that season 17-10.
The Texans have won three of the last five meetings, including a 23-20 victory in December 2024. Jacksonville claimed a 24-21 win in November 2023. The last five meetings have all been decided by one possession.

Jaguars Stats
Jacksonville averages 24.6 points and 334.8 offensive yards per game. The Jaguars have accumulated 1,674 total offensive yards through five contests. Their defense has surrendered just 70 points, an average of 14 per game.
Jacksonville leads the NFL in rushing defense, allowing 63.8 yards per contest. Opponents have managed only 2.9 yards per carry against the Jaguars’ defensive front.
That run defense has been one of the biggest reasons for Jacksonville’s 4-1 start.
Jacksonville’s defense has controlled the line of scrimmage, forcing opponents to earn their yards through the air.
Bhayshul Tuten leads the Jaguars with 349 rushing yards and two TD’s. Parker Washington has produced 352 receiving yards and four TD’s, providing an important target in the passing game.
Jacksonville has intercepted six passes and owns a plus-five turnover differential. The Jaguars have also held opponents to seven offensive TD’s through five games.
Starting left tackle Anton Harrison is sidelined with a knee injury, leaving Walker Little to take over. Montaric Brown and Ross Matiscik missed Thursday’s practice, while Eric Murray, Jarrian Jones, Jaylon Jones and Jourdan Lewis were limited. Jacksonville’s secondary availability remains worth watching before kickoff.
Texans Stats
Houston averages 22 points and 340.8 offensive yards per game. The Texans have accumulated 1,704 total offensive yards through five games. Their rushing attack has produced only 395 yards, an average of 79 per contest.
Woody Marks has rushed for 149 yards and two TD’s, while David Montgomery contributed 138 yards before his injury. Nico Collins leads Houston’s receivers with 249 yards and three TD’s.
Houston has converted 25 of 66 third-down opportunities.
Defensively, the Texans have recorded 18 sacks and allow just 78.4 rushing yards per game. Will Anderson Jr. delivered three sacks against Tennessee, helping Houston take control after building a lead.
The Texans have allowed 112 points through five games, an average of 22.4 per contest. Houston also owns a plus-three turnover differential.
David Montgomery, Jalen Pitre and Tank Dell have been ruled out and did not travel to London. Houston recently acquired Marvin Harrison Jr., giving the offense another receiving option ahead of Sunday’s matchup. Azeez Al-Shaair and Trent Brown also appeared on the week’s injury report.
Texans vs. Jaguars QB Matchup
Trevor Lawrence enters Week 6 with 1,174 passing yards, 10 TD’s and three interceptions. He has completed 67.1% of his attempts and owns a 106.8 passer rating. His production has been central to Jacksonville’s early success under Coen.
Lawrence has been sacked 10 times through five games. Houston’s edge rushers present a difficult challenge, particularly with Jacksonville changing personnel at left tackle.
Lawrence must recognize pressure quickly and keep Jacksonville out of obvious passing situations.
C.J. Stroud has thrown for 1,402 yards, six TD’s and no interceptions through five games. He has completed 64.3% of his passes and carries a 98.1 passer rating. Houston has relied heavily on his passing ability to move the football.
Stroud has been sacked 14 times this season. Jacksonville’s defensive front will test his protection and ability to get the ball out quickly.
Stroud’s interception-free start is encouraging, but Houston needs more consistency finishing possessions.

“ Anybody can post a prediction. CappersPicks backs up its sports picks with opinionated matchup analysis, experienced handicappers & documented betting performance. Pad that bankroll one day at a time! ”
Lawrence has the advantage in TD production, although Houston’s ability to pressure quarterbacks could limit his time to attack downfield. Jacksonville will need its backs and tight ends involved in protection without sacrificing too many receiving options.
Stroud is being reunited with former Ohio State teammate Marvin Harrison Jr. Their familiarity should help with communication, but the receiver has had limited preparation time in Houston’s offense.
The quarterback who handles pressure more effectively should give his team the better opportunity to control the game.
Jacksonville has the stronger offensive continuity and a more productive passing attack through five weeks. Houston counters with a defense capable of disrupting timing and forcing difficult third downs. Neither quarterback can afford careless decisions in a division matchup with this much riding on the result.
Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars bottom line: Jacksonville’s stronger start gives it the advantage, but Houston’s pass rush makes this a demanding matchup for both offenses.

NFL London Texans Jaguars Free Pick: Under 42.5
Here is my Texans Jaguars free pick: I’m betting Under 42.5. Houston is coming off its best defensive performance of the season, but one convincing win doesn’t suddenly fix an offense that has struggled to finish drives. Jacksonville has been considerably more consistent, although this is a tough matchup for a team replacing its starting left tackle.
I’m looking for pressure to dictate the game rather than either quarterback settling into a comfortable rhythm. Both coaching staffs have reasons to protect field position instead of forcing throws into tight coverage.
Jacksonville’s biggest challenge is keeping its offense on schedule without exposing its protection.
I’ll bet against sustained scoring when both defensive fronts can turn an ordinary second down into a punting situation.
The Under also benefits if these teams settle for FG’s after reaching scoring territory. Houston cannot afford to chase points recklessly, and Jacksonville has little reason to abandon a controlled approach if it gets ahead. Three productive drives don’t necessarily mean 3TD’s.
There is risk here because Houston’s depleted secondary could surrender a big play, and a turnover deep in either team’s territory can destroy a good total.
I still prefer the defensive advantages to the offensive upside at this number.
My money goes on Texans Jaguars Under 42.5; make these offenses put together full-field TD drives against those fronts, because I’m betting they’ll run out of answers before they run up the score.
