This game is anticlimactic as the AFC playoff picture is pretty much set and both of these teams are in it. Miami is already down to its second QB so they might play this one extra safe even though they are at home.
New England seals the top seed in the conference with a win. Though they might have that wrapped up already anyway. Not sure what the tiebreakers are between them and Oakland.
Kick off is set for 1:00 PM ET with both teams just looking to get through this one intact for a playoff run.
I would be very careful with any wagers.
New England Patriots
Pats enter the final week on a roll.
They have won 6 in a row and given up only 6 points in their last two wins over the Broncos and Jets. Neither of those teams has great offenses but those numbers reinforce how all season long the defense has been really good.
Brady may be Brady but this team does not have Gronk right now which means their offense is not going to be as potent. They do run the ball pretty well but they are going to need a total team effort if they are going to win in the playoffs.
The Pats are familiar with the final week of the season not being all that meaningful so I think we will get a solid if vanilla effort – they are not going to look out of sorts.
Not sure how much we will see of Brady after the first quarter though.
The good news is that Jimmy Garoppolo proved earlier this season that he is more than a viable backup.
New England could still win easily even if they play most of their reserves.
The Dolphins might be five games over .500 and heading to the playoffs but they have only scored 5 more points than their opponents this season.
I don’t want to say they have been lucky but their margin is thin, especially with Matt Moore filling in at QB. Jay Ajayi has been a nice story this season with three 200+ yard games including last week but in the other 14 games he has only topped 80 yards once.
He has truly been boom or bust and it is not easy to try and see which it is going to be from game to game.
The strength of the defense is up front with Cam Wake speeding off the edge and Ndomoking Suh making things a mess in the middle. Tony Lippett and Byron Maxwell are probably an underrated cornerback tandem.
Miami lost by 7 to New England back in week 2.
A lot has changed since them for both teama but this should be a walk for the Patriots…they they want it to be.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Miami +9
Even though there is not much to play for here I think we will get more of an effort from Miami. They are at home and a win would definitely be a confidence booster.

Just because the fire is there doesn’t mean the upset it imminent though.
