I have no idea why Jameis isn’t back in yet, what’s going on with his injury or what have you. But this Saints offence is just a nightmare to watch.
I personally think that they should make a run at upcoming free agent Jimmy Garoppolo next season. They desperately need someone who is rock steady, makes good decisions and stays healthy.
And on the other side you have the Rams who are an absolute mess. Super Bowl hangover is a massive understatement on how to describe this squad.
Stafford seems to stare down Kupp until he’s open which results in a ton of sacks and interceptions, and ultimately a concussion. I hope he’s okay of course but this team was dominant last season because of the democratic style of play on offence.
Kupp was obviously still dominant but other players produced as well. And now, Kupp is out indefinitely with an ankle injury so this Rams season is in dark days.
So, with all that said, let’s dive into this toilet bowl anyway shall we?
Los Angeles Rams
I’ve covered the Rams a lot this season unfortunately and they are so bad SU and ATS. It’s an easy fade the Rams season.
Going into this one however is a tough call given what I’ve said earlier about the Saints who are in the same boat. So this is purely a football matchup bet for me.
How do these two squads matchup play wise and by the numbers. And one thing the Rams are known for aside from Donald and Cooper Kupp is their lack of grit.
They’re more of a finesse team who gets things done with skill and speed. Not in the running game however, which is atrocious this season and the Saints have a decent run defence.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints have, for years, been known as the exact opposite of the Rams in terms of play style. They win games for being a gritty team that plays physical both in between the tackles with people like Kamara and Thomas after the catch, and on defence with dawgs like Cam Jordan.
They are really struggling in the pass game this season and it’s really frustrating to watch with the studs they do have, even with Michael Thomas out. Kamara has had some big games but is struggling doing it every Sunday, but nonetheless him, Olave and Landry is a dynamite core on that side of the ball.
One thing that really does concern me about backing the Saints in this one is that despite how bad the Rams are they have the 4th best red zone defence in the NFL that allows touchdowns a mere 47.83% of the time their opponents enter it.
Now good news for the Saints is that they have a helluva good efficiency rating when they get to the RZ so that may not be a massive edge in favour of LA but it’s still something to consider.
