So the chaos continues this season, as I write this we’re coming off another shocking primetime game where the Bears as 8.5 underdogs on the road cleaned out the Patriots.
Mac Jones was pulled in his return and Zappe briefly injected some electricity into the building after marching down field and getting a touchdown, and although that is unrelated to this game, it reiterates how the NFL makes absolutely no sense this year.
And so heading into this Saints and Raiders matchup I would be lying to you if I said I could intelligently handicap it for you. Both of these teams have played some good football at times and have bright spots on their rosters but fail to put 4 quarters together.
Both teams are fun to watch and root for though therefore, let’s take a closer look.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders are potentially going to be without TE Darren Waller again as he’s struggling with a soft tissue injury in his hamstring that happened back in week 5. His status remains up in the air from what I can gather so keep an eye on that before laying the Raiders.
Josh Jacobs has been balling hard though and as aforementioned the Raiders have honestly looked very good at times but cannot finish games or hang on to a lead. If they can figure out their game management issues they could go on a little run here with a favourable chunk of their schedule upcoming.
Their offensive analytics are actually pretty darn good. They average 27 points per game good for 3rd in the league and 367 yards per game good for 9th.
Defensively however they are giving up yards and points out there and they need to find a way to stop the bleeding.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints are dealing with a ton of key injuries including starting QB Jameis Winston and veteran receiver Michael Thomas who are both questionable once again for this one.
The Saint however are in similar spot as the Raiders where we see them getting points and yards and moving the ball decently well but cannot seem to put it together for 4 quarters nor can they hold onto a lead.
And they are also allowing far too much on defence, these teams are like mirror images of each other LOL.
As well as missing the two studs I already mentioned Jarvis Landry and Lattimore are also both questionable for this tilt.
