In a match up that has major playoff indications, the Kansas City Chiefs travel to the Georgia Dome to take on the Atlanta Falcons.
The Chiefs look to keep pace in the AFC West, well the Falcons look to grow their lead in the NFC South.
It’s a a tail of teams that have gotten to this part of the season in different ways.
The Chiefs have relied on their defense and have done just enough on offense to win. The Falcons on the other hand have a dynamic offense, and have done just enough on defense to win games.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are coming off a key win over a division rival, the Denver Broncos. In what was a low scoring defensive affair, Cairo Santos kicked the game winning field goal in overtime to give the Chiefs a 30-27 win.
30 points 30 points is the most scored since week one.
Alex Smith has had a very up and down season for the Chiefs. He is only averaging 241 yards per game on the season and has missed a couple games from injury.
He has thrown 10 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on the season.
The one thing that has really hurt the Chiefs is Jamal Charles getting placed on IR. They seem to have problems getting the ball moving on the ground, only averaging 96.5 yards per game on the ground.
On the defensive side of the ball the Chiefs are very solid. They only give up 19.5 points per game. On the road that number does rise a bit to 21.7 points per game.
Dee Ford leads the team in sacks with 10. Marcus Peters in his second year has risen to the upper tier of Defensive backs, and has 5 interceptions on the season.
The Falcons offense is elite. Some experts are comparing it to the 2000 Rams, also known as the greatest show on turf. Playing in the Georgia Dome this could be the second coming of the greatest show on turf.
The Falcons are coming off of a dominating performance over a good Cardinals team, in which they won 38-19.
QB Matt Ryan is leading the the teams offense again, and after a couple down years and people questioning if it was time to move on from him, he has proven he is still in his prime.
He has thrown for 3516 yards and 26 touchdowns. He has only thrown 6 interceptions on his way to a 114.3 passer rating.
The Falcons rushing attack is led by Devonta Freeman. He has rushed for 729 yards on the ground and 5 touchdowns. He also has 33 receptions for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
Tevin Coleman is also a huge part of the Falcons offense and although he is the backup to Freeman, he could be a starter on most teams.
Julio Jones is one of the best receivers in the NFL. He has 1140 yards and five touchdowns receiving. Mohamed Sanu, the big free agent acquisition for the Falcons has also lived up to the hype.
He has 495 yards receiving and five touchdowns on the season.
The defense is a different story. It’s a very young group that has had it’s growing pains through the season. The Falcons have given up 27.5 points per game.
The defense however has looked better the last three games. Over those games they have only given up 23.7 points.
The D is lead by Vic Beasley Jr. who leads the team with 9.5 sacks. He has been a very bright spot in what otherwise has been a defense that has struggled.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Falcons -3.5
Although the Chiefs have an elite defense, the Falcons have too many weapons on the offensive end.
The Falcons will be able to open up a lead, and Kansas City’s offense will not have enough fire power to get them back in the game.
