So we shift to the NFC for this contest between the Giants and Lions and I want to start off by saying, I am so happy for Saquon Barkley. To have the year he’s having right now after his struggles is so awesome to see and I hope he continues to ball out.
Brian Daboll hasn’t eliminated all of the Giants issues but he’s got this team buzzin’ around out there and it’s fun to see. They have some serious weapons and are a threat in the NFC for sure.
On the other side we have the Lions who are coming off a nice win over the Bears in what was an absolute barn burner and still wasn’t the most exciting game of week 11.
Amon-Ra St. Brown is one of my favourite players as well and I am psyched to see the Lions trending upwards as well, they won’t be making the playoffs this year of course but potentially next year.
The Lions are the ATS wagon they were last year though so to pivot back to this particular matchup, I am not too sure where I lean just yet.
So, let’s dig a little deeper.
Detroit Lions
The Lions are a tough evaluation. They don’t carry some of their offensive brilliance from game to game, Goff will inevitably make some bad decisions and the defence will give up absolute chunks basically every time they are on the field.
They are 5-4 ATS this season which is not bad obviously but nothing like they were last year despite having more wins. I haven’t actually placed a bet on them this season and I doubt I will, not to tease the decision here too much.
What is awesome about this team is that they are 5th in the league in red zone offence. They are a touchdown machine inside the 25 scoring 6 just a tick under 70% of the time.
We’ll see how they can operate on Sunday because the Giants unfortunately for them have the second best red zone defence at preventing 6.
New York Giants
With all the success the Giants are having their metrics on offence are actually rather unimpressive which has garnered a lot of “the Giants are frauds” talk around the league.
Their overall offence at generating yards and points rank in the bottom 12 of the league in almost every metric, but their rushing stats are top in almost every fancy stat meaning Saquon is carrying the load.
I won’t get into it too deeply because we all know how special he is and how mid their pass attack is.
