This battle between two NFC basement dwellers should actually be a pretty entertaining game if I’m being honest, with the above lines set now after the hook came in today, lets dive into the intangibles.
Both teams are coming off losses to division rivals and are not playoff hopefuls, high draft picks are coming down the pike for both teams.
So no hungry dog in this one.
Chicago Bears
Setting aside betting for a minute, purely from a football fans standpoint, this is one of the most frustrating teams I have ever watched and it lands squarely on the shoulders of their head coach Matt Nagy. There is very good reason that at their home games, Bulls games, and Blackhawks games Chicago faithful chant “FIRE NAGY”.
At the draft this offseason, they traded up to go and get Justin Fields who is one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the game today, went with Dalton to start the year and groom the young gun until Andy got hurt at which point Fields became the starter and the coaching staff did not have a plan for him whatsoever.
For example, he is one of the fastest quarterbacks in the game today, running a 4.51 forty yard dash, and they have no designed runs for the kid in the red zone.
In their previous game against the Vikings, they had four consecutive trips to the red zone and came away with a donut. It wasn’t until their final drive of the day that they came away with a score to come within one (classic Vikings) but ultimately couldn’t complete the comeback.
Which by the way was also due to Nagy’s complete inability to manage the clock. How this guy has a job in the NFL still is beyond me. Enough hate for him…
Seattle Seahawks
On another but comparable note, Seattle is going to end their season with a losing record for the first time since Russell has been their starter. Since he was a rookie I have been watching this team, year after year after year not address their offensive line under Pete Carroll and continuously put Russ in danger or even just on the hurry up because they know he’s a certified freak of nature.
This team’s philosophy has always been, let’s play good D, run the football well, and count on Russ to make crazy plays all the time because he can. What Pete doesn’t seem to realize is the legion of boom is long gone as well as Marshawn Lynch and his offensive line is a bunch of trash cans with feet.
I really feel Wilson’s pain and hope changes are made just for his sake.
Russell has been in the news this past year expressing these frustrations which has led to many in the business thinking he may be on his way out of town this upcoming season. He is still under contract and has a no move clause but definitely an interesting situation to follow.

Despite the venom I just spat at them, I still like the Seahawks to cover their points this Sunday at home. The Bears just have too many weaknesses and are so poorly coached I cannot see them putting up many points on the road in one of the loudest buildings in the league.
