2018 Dolphins Season Preview & NFL Futures Lines
Looking for 2018 Miami Dolphins predictions? We’ve got your back. The year of 2017 just wasn’t good for the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins had to deal with a hurricane, they had to play sixteen weeks straight, and they had to do it without their starting quarterback. The Dolphins were a playoff team two year ago and with a healthy team, with a weak conference and a weak division, the Dolphins may just sneak back into the playoffs this year.

2018 Miami Dolphins Predictions: Roster Changes
The Miami Dolphins made some changes this past offseason. The big headline was the fact that the Dolphins traded for Robert Quinn to help out their defensive line.
Quinn will be back with his hand on the ground on the defensive line and he should be able to thrive in a system more in line with his skill set.
Long time Miami wide receiver; PPR fantasy darling, Jarvis Landry was traded away in the offseason.
The Dolphins did grab a couple of wide receivers that have Landry’s skill set. Danny Amendola was signed and, yeah, he’s pretty much Landry. If he stays healthy he could be a potential PPR wide receiver to watch out for.
Albert Wilson was signed, as well, and the Dolphins still do have deep threat Kenny Stills, Jakeem Grant, and we’ll see if DeVante Parker can finally live up to his potential in his third year.

In order to protect Tannehill, the Dolphins signed a couple of offensive linemen in the offseason. Josh Sitton and Daniel Kilgore were quality linemen for their respective teams.
Also, the Dolphins signed Frank Gore to help out at halfback and spell Kenyan Drake. We’ll see how effective Gore is and how much use he’ll be.
2018 Miami Dolphins Predictions: Offense
The offensive should be pretty solid. The Dolphins have a quality quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. At halfback, Kenyon Drake came on late once he was given all the reps when they traded away Jay Ajayi.
The receiving core is pretty solid, as well. Sure, the Dolphins got rid of Landry, but they replaced him adequately with Amendola and Wilson, plus, as mentioned above, they have a solid group of receivers already with plenty of different skill sets.

Drake was fantastic for the Dolphins running the ball and catching passes out of the backfield. Drake has the potential to be a strong pick up in fantasy circles and as far as real life is concerned.
If the passing game is good then the teams won’t be stacking the box and he should be as good as he was towards the tail end of last year.
2018 Miami Dolphins Predictions: Defense
Defensively, this is a team that has some strong points. At defensive end, they should be fantastic with Cameron Wake getting teamed up with Robert Quinn on the other side.
If Wake and Quinn can consistently get to the quarterback snap after snap after snap that could mask some of the deficiencies they have in the back seven. In particular, at linebacker.
The linebacking position for the Dolphins wasn’t strong last year and on paper they aren’t good this year. However, the secondary is pretty solid and, overall, this is a young team that will look to take the next step this year.
Plus, this wasn’t a bad defensive team last year. They were pretty average across the board, but with a better offense and a defense that has Quinn and essentially a freshman team from last year that will look to mature and take the next step this year, this is a team that has playoff potential.
2018 Miami Dolphins Handicapping: (Strengths/Weaknesses)
This is a team that doesn’t really have a lot of strength, but they don’t have a ton of weaknesses either. This is is a team that doesn’t really wow you anywhere; save for maybe defensive end with Wake and Quinn.
Linebacker is a weakness that could cause the Dolphins some trouble in both the run and passing game.

All in all, the strength of this team might just be their balance.
2018 Miami Dolphins Prediction (Final Record): 8-8
This is a Miami Dolphins team that will have to get off to a fast start. If they do, they’ll have a chance to make the playoffs. The first half of their schedule is manageable and they’ll have to put in the work.
The second half of their schedule includes playing the New England Patriots, going on the road to Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. Plus, a road game in December against Buffalo and a game against, at home, against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
To me, I’ve got the Dolphins going 8-8 and I could see them winning nine maybe even getting to ten wins if you are really optimistic, but I could see them faltering and finishing below .500.
However, this is a solid team with a somewhat manageable schedule, finishing as an average, 8-8 team seems appropriate so that’s what I’ll roll with.
