The AFC East has been owned by the New England Patriots for more than a decade now and this year won’t be anything different. The Patriots have the most talented team across the board with a hall of fame quarterback and head coach.
2018 AFC East Predictions: Buffalo Bills
Bills Odds to Win 2018 Super Bowl: +10000
Bills Odds to Win 2018 AFC Conference: +3300
Bills Odds to Win 2018 AFC East Division: +1100
For the Buffalo Bills it may be a case of be careful for what you wish for. Tyrod Taylor is gone and A.J. McCarron/Josh Allen will be taking over the reins at quarterback this year.
Taylor wasn’t the problem in Buffalo. Now, he had hit his ceiling, but his floor was much higher than a lot of quarterbacks around the league.

The wide receiving corps is basically trash, probably the worst in the league. Forty percent of their offensive line retired in the offseason and LeSean McCoy is dealing with some off-the-field issues.
Last year’s offense wasn’t great, but this year’s offense looks like it will be much worse.
On the plus side, at least the defense will be good. The defensive line is arguably the deepest in the league, the Bills signed Star Lotulelei and drafted Harrison Phillips and Tremaine Edmunds.
The defense will be good and will be heavily leaned on because they will be under a lot of stress and will be on the field for quite a bit this season.
The schedule is tough this year, especially those first four games. It’s going to be difficult for the Bills to make it back-to-back postseason appearances, but at least they got the monkey off their back last year.
2018 AFC East Predictions: Miami Dolphins
Dolphins Odds to Win 2018 Super Bowl: +10000
Dolphins Odds to Win 2018 AFC Conference: +3000
Dolphins Odds to Win 2018 AFC East Division: +1100
If you are looking for a team that could potentially shake things up in the AFC East, Miami is your best bet.
The Dolphins from top-to-bottom are a pretty solid team overall. They have a solid quarterback in Ryan Tannehill, solid running game with Kenyan Drake and Frank Gore, their wide receiving corps is very good, and their offensive line is decent.
Defensively, they are a little less than stellar, but they do have do possess two pro bowl talents in Cameron Wake and Robert Quinn.
While it’s a long shot for them to win the division, they do, realistically, have a shot at making the playoffs as a wild card.
2018 AFC East Predictions: New England Patriots
Patriots Odds to Win 2018 Super Bowl: +600
Patriots Odds to Win 2018 AFC Conference: +260
Patriots Odds to Win 2018 AFC East Division: -650
There’s not a whole lot more that needs to be said about the Patriots. They have one of the best quarterbacks in the league, one of the best head coaches of all-time in Bill Belichick, and from top to bottom they are one of the best teams in the league.

Offensively, the Patriots will be right near the top of the league. Defensively, they should be better. How the Patriots performed during the latter stages of the season, I would expect that defense to show up for the majority of this season.,
The schedule this year is very soft. The Patriots are a lock to win ten games and, more than likely, will win more than that. Look for the Patriots to win the division and perhaps compete for yet another Super Bowl.
2018 AFC East Predictions: New York Jets
Jets Odds to Win 2018 Super Bowl: +17500
Jets Odds to Win 2018 AFC Conference: +4500
Jets Odds to Win 2018 AFC East Division: +1600
The Jets are a in a bit of a weird position. They seem to, obviously, have an eye on the future, but they are still investing themselves into winning now. They seem to be hedging their bets by going half in on the now and half in on the future.
Which may, eventually, pay off, but it seems like the move for a team like the Jets is to fully invest in a rebuild.
However, they still have Josh McCown, they signed Teddy Bridgewater and they drafted Sam Darnold for the future. If they did nail Darnold as their franchise quarterback, they may be on to something with a strong wide receiving corps.
Robby Anderson was a nice surprise last year and if Quincy Enunwa can get back to where he was a couple of years ago, the Jets will have a couple of nice weapons. Plus, they still have Jermaine Kearse and they signed Terrelle Pryor.
As far as a fantasy perspective is concerned, the Jets could be a sneaky cheap, fantasy friendly offense that puts up some garbage time yards and points.
Defensively, they are serviceable. They have a strong secondary with Trumaine johnson, Morris Claiborne and Jamal Adams, but their front seven will have to step up.
Leonard Williams is a beast, but he needs some help to take the pressure and double teams off him. Darron Lee is going to have to step up; it’s a make-or-break year for him.
This is a Jets team that has some good, has some bad, and if things break exceptionally right, maybe they can get to .500, but that’s a bit of a stretch. A third place finish isn’t out of the question, though.
Cappers Picks 2018 AFC East Predictions
I’d like to say things will be different, finally, in the AFC East, but don’t expect it. The Patriots will win the AFC East unless something drastic happens.
From top to bottom, the Patriots have the best team on paper and they have a very easy schedule.

The other three teams in the division have roughly the same odds. So, if you are looking for a value pick, I’d give the Dolphins a look.
