The Mets had a good weekend taking two of three at home against Colorado. It is going to be awfully hard to keep the momentum going in this “road” series against the Yankees. Pete Alonso continues to be the story on offense. he has 21 homers now and even though he strike out once a game is able to make decent contact. Jeff McNeil barely skipped a beat with his injury.

Zack Wheeler is on a nice run right now. He has pitched four straight with at least 7 innings and the Mets have won each. The only concerning part are the homers, he has given up 7 over those games. In Yankee Stadium against a righty the Yankees will load up to try and lift it out to right field. Still Wheeler has found a nice level of consistency that will help the Mets if they can get on a run.
New York Yankees
The Yankees were only able to get one from Cleveland over the weekend. The Indians are surging right now and the Yankees are still waiting on a bunch of players to get healthy. No one is expected back in this series so it is on the likes of Luke Voit, Gio Urshela and even Cameron Maybin to keep the Yankees afloat a little while longer. Some of the big boys are expected back this month.

James Paxton has been good for the Yankees but it is the same old story of how much they can keep him on the field. He has been dominant at times and it has been good to see that he is keeping the ball in the park. He gave up a homer in his last start but before that went five straight without.
