Sunday, November 17 finds the Washington Wizards traveling to play the Orlando Magic for the first time this 2019-20 season.
Last season, the squads played four times with Washington taking three. The Magic hold the all-time record having bested the Wizards in 67 of their 120 matches.
Through 10 games the Washington Wizards aren’t a team who’ll defend you but if you get into a shooting contest with them they are more than happy to play along.
Particularly Bradley Beal who has been scorching of late leading his team in scoring (29.7 points), assists (6.8) and steals (1.2). The Minnesota Timberwolves decided to play the run and gun game and it cost them as Washington won the shoot out 137-116 with Beal scoring 44 points and adding 10 assists for the double-double.
Beal was joined by Moritz Wagner who collected his own double-double of 30 points and 15 rebounds. Another trio of Wizards registered double figure scoring including Thomas Bryant (12), Troy Brown Jr. (11) and Isaiah Thomas (10).
Thomas Bryant is nursing a sore left hip and listed as questionable for Sunday, the Wizards will miss his team leading rebounds (9.3) and blocks (1.4) if he is out. Likewise, Jordan McRae is battling an illness and is listed as doubtful.
Ian Mahinmi is out until late this month after suffering a strained right Achilles tendon. And, although John Wall has been spotted on the court getting shots up he’s expected to be out for the season.
After struggling to find their offense at the start of the season Steve Clifford finally has his Magic playing effectively on both sides of the hardwood.
In their first eight matches Orlando had two victories to show for their efforts but have won three of their last four now that they’ve got the offense rolling.
During that opening eight game stretch the Magic averaged 95.1 points per game but through the last four games have pushed that figure to 110.8 points per game.
In the win over the Spurs, seven players scored in double figures. Al-Farouq Aminu delivered a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds. Similarly, Nikola Vucevic posted a 10 point, 13 rebound double-double of his own.
Evan Fournier led the Magic in scoring with 26 points while Terrence Ross (20), Aaron Gordon (14), Markelle Fultz (13) and DJ Augustin chipped in with double-figure scoring.
Jonathan Isaac had to sit the last game with a sprained right ankle and is listed as questionable for Sunday. Melvin Fraizer Jr. has missed games both due to a left shoulder contusion and personal reasons with his return date unknown.

Free Washington Wizards vs. Orlando Magic NBA Prediction:
Unlike the Timberwolves the Magic won’t get lured into your turn – my turn basketball. Orlando will key in on Beal and try to lock him down and they boast the fourth-best defense in the league so they have the goods to back it up.
Conversely, the Wizards rank 28th on defense although they say they are committed to improving on that side of the hardwood.
