Utah Jazz
After three narrow victories over Dallas, Phoenix and Houston to open up after the break, Utah got whacked by New Orleans on Friday, 124-90.
Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum combined for 53 points in victory. Donovan Mitchell was the high man for Utah with just 14.
The Pelicans didn’t even shoot it particularly well from outside (11-for-36), though they did better than Utah, which missed 30 three-pointers.

The Jazz remains up a game-and-a-half on Dallas, which is up another game on Denver. But Utah is three games back of the nearest competition better than it, Memphis. For now, Utah is snug into the four-seed.
A cluster of bad losses are troubling, however. Utah has lost by double-digits seven times since early January.
Before that date, the Jazz didn’t lose a single game by that many points.
OKC Thunder
The Thunder, conversely, are out of it and without a run in them surely because of injuries.
Five of OKC’s top players are out, including Lu Dort and Josh Giddey. Even Aaron Wiggins missed Friday’s loss to Minnesota with an ankle.
The Timberwolves won in Oklahoma City by 37 points. Six Timberwolves scored between 15 and 20 points.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, one of the few notable players on OKC who is not out, was the game’s high-scorer with 33 points.
Isaiah Roby had 21 and Tre Mann 15. The bench got out-scored by Minnesota, 74—18.
The Thunder did win in Denver two days before the beating it took on Friday. It has two other 20-point losses since the All-Star Break, however.

Utah can be a scary shooting team but it has not shot it quite so well here of late.
