Wednesday, November 27th finds interconference rivals matching up as the Utah Jazz face the Indiana Pacers for the first time this season.
Last season, the squads played twice with the Pacers winning both contests. The Pacers hold the all-time record having bested the Jazz in 45 of their 88 matches
Utah Jazz
The Jazz still isn’t rolling consistently on the offensive side of the hardwood but their defense is as stellar as ever with the club ranking first in the NBA.

However, without their defensive captain (Rudy Gobert) available in the last two games the offense came alive with 128-120 point win versus the Pelicans and 118-122 point loss versus the Bucks.
The problem was Utah allowing over 120 points wasn’t ideal and subsequently ended their three-game win streak.
In the loss to the Bucks and without Gobert the Jazz allowed Giannis Antetokounmpo to score 50 points. For the Jazz Bojan Bogdanovic led the scoring with 24 points while Donovan Mitchell chipped in with 20 points.
All four reserves who played scored in double figures including Joe Ingles (15), Georges Niang (13), Emmanuel Mudiay(12) and Jeff Green (11).
This match marks the second game of a five-game road trip which is the longest Utah has this season. After Indiana, they will travel to Memphis, Toronto, and Philly before they head home.
Nigel Williams-Goss is probable for the match in spite of a toe sprain. Gobert is questionable and may miss his third game in a row with an ankle sprain. Ed Davis suffered a small fracture to his left fibula which will keep him out of the lineup until early December.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers opened the season with three losses including an opening night loss to the Pistons at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Since then the Milwaukee Bucks are the lone team to have bested them on their home court as Indy reeled off six wins.

The Pacers have won three in a row including their last two games versus the Magic and Grizzlies and after the Jazz will host the Hawks prior to hitting the road for a five-game road trip the first of three such five-game road trips they’ll undertake this season.
In the win over Memphis TJ Warren led the scoring with 26 points and Domantas Sabonis posted a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.
They were joined by four teammates in double-digit scoring including Jeremy Lamb (19), Aaron Holiday (16), Malcolm Brogdon (14), and T.J. McConnell (11).
As for the season, the team leader board features Domantas Sabonis topping points (18.6), rebounds (13.4), and field goal percentage (50.2). Brogdon leads for most assists (8.), Warren (1.1) for steals and Myles Turner (2.5) for blocks.
JaKarr Sampson was out the last three games due to back soreness, and it is unlikely that he will be available for Wednesday’s battle against the Jazz.
There is no specific return date for Edmund Sumner who suffered a non-displaced fracture of the third metacarpal. Victor Oladipo continues his rehab for the ruptured quadriceps tendon and is expected back in early December.
