NBA Betting – Portland Trail Blazers vs. Golden State Warriors Second Round Series Preview and Picks
The Warriors won 2 of 3 games facing the Blazers this season and all 3 games were shootouts with the lowest score by a winning team being 128 points.
However, reigning MVP and likely MVP this season Stephen Curry injured his knee in the last series and will not likely play in this one.
What the hell are the Blazers doing in the Western Conference semis? I mean, they lost star LeMarcus Aldridge in the off-season and still made the playoffs and won the first series.
They play a great team game and were fortunate in the last series to have Chris Paul and Blake Griffin both injured and not playing.
Let’s break it down.

Trail Blazers vs. Warriors Free Series Predictions: Guards
Obviously, with Curry in the lineup you have to give the edge to the Warriors, but he is out. Still Golden State has Klay Thomson and one of the most underrated backup PG’s in the league in Sean Livingston.
[dfads params=’groups=226&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Livingston came up big in the Game 5 rout of the Rockets, to close the series, going for 16 points on 7/8 shooting.
The Blazers have 2 guards that averaged over 20 ppg this season in Damian Lillard and NBA Most Improved Player award winner C.J. McCallum.
The Blazers are hard to read, as Lillard, who leads the team in scoring and is the team leader overall, struggled with his shot in the last 3 games of the series, which Portland won. McCallum was solid, but did not shoot lights out.
Verdict: This one has to be a toss-up simply because Curry will be on the bench in this series.
Trail Blazers vs. Warriors Free Series Predictions: Forwards and Center
Both teams are led by their guards, but the frontcourt players stepped up in the first round for both teams, especially the Blazers.
For Portland SF Maurice Harkless averaged just over 6 ppg for the season, but in the playoffs has averaged 12.7 ppg in 6 games. In the last 2 games of the Clippers’ series he combined for 33 points.
He and Al-Farouq Aminu have been getting it done and C Mason Plumlee has averaged 13.2 rpg in the post-season.
Check out the free sports picks from Cappers Picks experts today!
Plumlee and fellow C Ed Davis have averaged over 20 rpg in the playoffs and if they perimeter players can force the Warriors into tough shots and they can dominate the boards we may see a shocker.
The Blazers do not have a great PF, which has to be a concern facing Draymond Green, who is averaging 13.2 ppg in the playoffs.
He, Andre Iguodala, and C Marreese Speights all averaged double digits in the Houston series.
Trail Blazers vs. Warriors Free Series Predictions:
Obviously, the Warriors will miss Curry, but Golden State, who was the highest scoring team in the league this season, still scored 114 points and 121 points in the last 2 games of the Houston series.
They are a deep team even without the MVP and the Blazers have their work cut out for them.
The Blazers ranked 6th this season in scoring, but only 20th in points allowed. The only game they took from the Warriors this season was at home where they blew up for 137 points. They will score, but their D facing the Warriors may be the key in this series.
Prediction: The Blazers will play well and care-free in this series and without Curry they will take 2 games at home. Still, the Warriors have too much firepower and they will win in 6 and advance to the Western Conference finals.
