The recent Raptors scheduled has been odd, to say the least as during the win streak they’ve traveled to Oklahoma City, back to Toronto, then to Minnesota and Atlanta prior to returning home again and now will play in New York prior to traveling to Texas to play the Spurs.
They’ve looked a little fatigued but with a full complement of healthy players and their robust defense are doing what’s necessary to collect victories.
Despite allowing Philly 35 first-quarter points they clamped down and only allowed 60 points through the remainder of the match, winning every other quarter and the game 107-95.
Fred VanVleet got hot in the second half and led the team in scoring with 22 points. Pascal Siakam still hasn’t had a breakout night since returning to the lineup but still, put up a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Norman Powell failed to garner 20 or more points for the sixth consecutive game since returning from injury coming just short with 18. The trio of Marc Gasol (17), Kyle Lowry (16) and Serge Ibaka (16) all reached double figures.
Team leaders feature Pascal Siakam for scoring (23.5), Kyle Lowry in assists (7.5) OG Anunoby for rebounds (5.1), and steals (1.1) Norman Powell tops field goal percentage (51.4%) while Chris Boucher leads blocks (0.9).
Patrick McCaw took an elbow in the match Wednesday breaking his nose and is questionable to play Friday.
New York Knicks
The Lakers rolled into the Mecca on Wednesday and although the home team made them fight for it they ended up losing 92-100.
It was their fourth loss in five games although they easily won the match prior to the Cavaliers 106-86.
In the loss to the Lakers, Marcus Morris was the top scorer with 20 points. Damyean Dotson entered off the bench to score 17 points. Julius Randle served up a nice stat line of 16 points, six assists, and eight rebounds.
Taj Gibson added 16 points and Mitchell Robinson grabbed 12 rebounds. Dennis Smith Jr. returned to the lineup but failed to score in his brief appearance in the third quarter.
Julius Randle leads four Knicks stat categories including scoring (18.8) assists (3.3), rebounding (9.2) and field goal percentage (44.8%). RJ Barrett is tops in steals (1.1) and Mitchell Robinson tops blocks (1.8).
Rookie RJ Barrett missed the match with a sprained ankle and isn’t expected back until early February.
