It’s a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night when the Toronto Raptors roll into Milwaukee, still not yet feeling the hangover from their 2019 NBA Title.

The Raptors have started strongly and some are surprised.
Of course, losing Kawhi Leonard along with the incoming hangover and tired legs from the championship run had some pegging them as a team that would struggle from the outset in the East this season.

That hasn’t happened yet and those haters could be a primary reason why. The old guard is out to prove it is still a force in the East and there’s nothing like some early-season NBA games to make a statement.
The fact that Kyle Lowry, Serge Ibaka, and Marc Gasol have started the season well doesn’t particularly surprise me. What would surprise me is if they play this well all season, once the early-season “eff you” tour winds down.
Of course, the Raptors’ 4–1 start has less to do with the vets than it does with Pascal Siakam’s huge leap forward in this now his fourth NBA season.
Last season’s Most Improved Player is averaging over 28 points per game through his first five games, up from 16.9 last season, which was up from just over seven in the season before that.
Milwaukee Bucks
Milwaukee hasn’t been in action since it lost in Boston on Wednesday night to drop to 2–2.

Giannis Antetokounmpo only attempted thirteen field goals in that game and the Bucks went just 14/45 from three-point range at the TD Garden in an eleven-point loss. Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, and Gordon Hayward combined to score 78 for Boston.
Everything went right for the Bucks last regular season when they won sixty games. Nobody should expect such smooth sailing this season but I’m not calling for serious trouble either.
Milwaukee’s division is pathetic and it has the advantage every night in the East with the conference’s most formidable superstar.
This will be the Bucks’ first back-to-back spot and it involves some travel. Milwaukee will play in Orlando on Friday, a game in which Kyle Korver, who was acquired in the offseason, will miss to rest up for this one.
What the Bucks will do with any of their other players isn’t yet known. Stay posted for updates on what Coach Bud will do with Giannis, Middleton, etc.
For now, I will assume the big guns play.
