Monday, March 7th the Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks play for the third of their four matches this season. Utah won the initial contest 120-116 on December 25th and followed it up with a 114-109 victory on February 25th. Dallas will host the final contest on March 27th.
Utah got pummelled by the Pelicans on Friday and are playing a back-to-back series with the front side featuring a 116-103 victory versus the Thunder on Sunday while the Mavericks played Saturday without Luka Doncic but won 114-113 versus the Kings.
Last season, the teams played three times with the Jazz winning two of the three contests. The Jazz holds the all-time record having bested the Mavericks in 106 of their 181 matches

Five players scored in double figures in the loss to the Pelicans on Friday but Donovan Mitchell’s 14 was the top mark.
For a Jazz team who pride themselves on their offensive prowess and lock-down defensive ability losing by 30 points to New Orleans was embarrassing regardless of how well the Pelicans are playing of late.
They got the chance to get back on track facing the Thunder on Sunday and took advantage —
Utah built a 16 point halftime lead and while they lost the last two quarters it was by a cumulative three points in a match the Thunder never threatened to get back into.
The match served as a warning to playoff opponents who attempt to stop the Donovan Mitchell – Rudy Gobert pristine pick and roll play as the Thunder tried to by doubling and tripling them.
The duo simply whipped the ball out to the corners and the main recipient was Bojan Bogdanovic who set a franchise record connecting on 11 made 3-pointers of his 18 attempts most of which were wide-open shots. He finished with 35 points.
Both Mitchell (24 points, 10 assists) and Gobert (12 points, 17 rebounds) registered double-doubles while Jordan Clarkson scored 20 points.
Utah has no injuries of note.
Dallas Mavericks
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure and so it would seem Spencer Dinwiddie is the Mav’s treasure. To be fair, Dinwiddie was largely responsible for how the Nets played prior to the Big 3 arriving.
Recalling that campaign Brooklyn was a fun squad who competed in every game and feared no one. On Saturday, the Mavericks played very similarly to that Nets unit and Dinwiddie rose to the occasion putting up 36 points and seven assists. ‘
Jalen Brunson offered 23 points and six assists while Dorian Finney-Smith added 17 points (and seven rebounds) but none more important than the corner 3-pointer he hit with three seconds on the clock to put Dallas up by three.
Josh Green (12) and Reggie Bullock (11) were the other double-figure contributors.
Luka Doncic (toe) was upgraded to probable while Maxi Kleber (ankle), and Jalen Brunson (foot) are questionable for Monday. Marquese Chriss (knee) was downgraded to out. Theo Pinson (finger) and Tim Hardaway Jr.(foot) are out indefinitely.

Although there are other elite teams within that win streak they are either struggling (Warriors) or dealing with injuries. (Nets, Nuggets). If Luka plays it will be interesting to see how their defense addresses the Jazz this time.
The Jazz knows how vital this match is with players noting in the post-game they’ll be locked in for this match given the magnitude of the game and seeding plus tiebreaks.
Locked in or not, the Mavericks have the length and defensive prowess to both befuddle the Mitchell – Gobert PNR and also get out to the perimeter plus they have the rest advantage.
