Friday, November 1 finds Western Conference rivals the San Antonio Spurs facing the Golden State Warriors for the first time in the 2019-20 season. This match comes on the heels of Stephen Curry joining the walking Warriors wounded after he broke his hand in the game versus the Suns.
Last season, the squads played three times with the Spurs winning two of three contests. The Spurs hold the all-time record having bested the Warriors 109 matches of their 170 matches.

The Spurs arrive in San Francisco on the back end of a back-to-back set having played the Clippers the night prior.

Depending on what happens Thursday night the Spurs could be one of the only two unbeaten teams (76ers) remaining. UPDATE: The Spurs lost to the Clippers so the 76ers are the only remaining unbeaten squad.
The master, Gregg Popovich has tweaked his system to fit his roster proving all the critics wrong once again. Naysayers forgot the cardinal rule – there’s death, taxes and Pops Spurs making the playoffs.
Dejounte Murray is back after his year lost to an ACL injury and he’s been a revelation on both sides of the court. The youth brigade of Derrick White, Bryn Forbes, Lonnie Walker, and Murray are the cornerstones of the next Spurs era.
In order to integrate this group with the veterans, Popovich has revamped his offense quickening pace. Plus found a way to integrate mid-range specialists DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge. All while working toward integrating the youth on the club.
In the win over the Blazers, San Antonio demonstrated their typical team ball with five double-digit scorers. DeRozan led the way with 27 points while White (21), Aldridge (15), Forbes (14) and Patty Mills (12) were the other contributors.
There is still work to be completed defensively, but San Antonio owns the fourth-ranked offense.
Golden State Warriors
When it rains it pours. Use whatever adage you want but even before Wednesday’s trauma the Warriors did not look great and odds are for the foreseeable future they are going to look terrible.

That’s because Stephen Curry broke his hand in a fall Wednesday as he put his hand out to catch himself while Aron Baynes fell on top of him. Although there is no reported timetable, (let alone updates on if he’ll opt for surgery or wear a cast ) the Warriors will exercise caution.
Five players scored in double digits in the last match with Eric Paschall (20) leading the way. Glenn Robinson III (17), D’Angelo Russell (15), Willie Cauley-Stein(12), and Ky Bowman (10) were the other double-digit contributors.
Aside from Curry, five others are on the disabled list. Draymond Green is tending to a sore back but expected to play. Kevon Looney (neuropathy) is expected to miss three more games while Jacob Evans (groin) is out till the end of November.
Alen Smailagic (knee) is out indefinitely and Klay Thompson (knee) is likely gone for the season.
