Free San Antonio Spurs vs. Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Prediction:
Sunday, March 8th, the San Antonio Spurs face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the clubs’ second and final third meeting of the 2019-20 season. The Cavaliers won the initial meeting on December 12th with a score of 117-109.
Last season, the teams played twice with the Spurs winning both matches. The Spurs hold the all-time record having bested the Cavaliers in 64 of their 96 matches
San Antonio Spurs
The odds are looking more like this will be the first season in 23 years the Spurs don’t reach the NBA playoffs.
Head Coach Gregg Popovich typically can reach in his bag of tricks and pull out a rabbit. But, after the loss on Friday to Charlotte Pops called out his starting lineup specifically citing them for playing “soft”.

That can’t be a great feeling for the pride of players like DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge knowing they could be the players who are forever tied to “that Spurs team” coached by Pop that didn’t get to the playoffs.
Aldridge was out versus the Hornets but the overall record still reflects his contributions and inability to lead the team to wins.
In the loss, DeRozan tried to provide leadership with 24 points and nine assists. Trey Lyles and Derrick White both scored 19. Rudy Gay (15) and Keldon Johnson (13) were the other double-figure scorers.
DeRozan leads the team in scoring (22.3) assists (5.5) and field goal percentage (53.1%). LaMarcus Aldridge tops rebounds (7.5) and blocks (1.6) while Dejounte Murray is the steals leader (1.6).
Lonnie Walker IV had to leave the match versus the Hornets with a shin contusion and is listed as questionable for Sunday. Marco Belinelli (illness) missed the last two games and is out again Sunday.
Jakob Poeltl has an MCL sprain and will be out until the end of the month while LaMarcus Aldridge (shoulder strain) is out indefinitely.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers are playing with freedom and despite injuries to much of their core have been in more games than not.
In spite of their effort the wins aren’t piling up but they did end a four-game losing streak with a surprising win over the Nuggets on Saturday.
Matthew Dellavedova looked like the point guard who played with former teammate LeBron James as he registered a career-high 14 assists.
Kevin Love posted 27 points to lead his Cavaliers while Collin Sexton finished with 25 points and Cedi Osman pitched in 20 points as the only other double-figure scorer.
The new Head Coach, J.B. Bickerstaff has amassed a 4-5 record since assuming the helm.
Team leaders are Collin Sexton for scoring (20.6), (1.0), Darius Garland for assists (3.9), and Larry Nance Jr. for steals (1.0). Tristan Thompson leads three stat categories including rebounds (10.2), field goal percentage (51.3%) and blocks (0.9).
Andre Drummond (strained calf) and Darius Garland (groin) both missed the last three contests. Kevin Porter Jr (concussion) missed the last two and Dean Wade (ankle) missed the last game.
Drummond and Wade are questionable while Garland, Porter, Dante Exum (ankle) and Dylan Windler (shin) are all out.
