On Saturday, November 5th, the Sacramento Kings and Orlando Magic will face off for the first of two scheduled meetings. The Kings will host the second meeting on January 9th.
Sacramento has been off since Wednesday when they lost 107-110 to the Heat while the Magic played Thursday shocking the Warriors with a 130-129 victory.
Last season, the teams played twice with the Kings winning both contests. The Kings hold the all-time record having bested the Magic in 36 of their 66 matches.
Sacramento Kings
Mike Brown was none too pleased with the loss to the Heat after the final shot by Tyler Herro ended up being the difference in the match and the bench boss noted ‘he travelled’.
Unfortunately, the refs who are supposed to be making a point of locking down on travels and carries ignored the infraction and the result was the Kings lost by three points in a tightly contested match.
Kings’ opponents are feasting both in terms of the number of points they’re scoring and the ease with which they’re scoring.
Case in point, the Kings’ foes shoot 49.0 percent from the field ranking only behind the Spurs who recently dropped to the bottom after a shellacking at the hands of the Raptors.
Their opponents also fare well from the perimeter shooting 40.6 percent from the perimeter which ranks 28th.
Offensively, Sacramento scores 113.3 points per game (18th) as they shoot 47.7% from the field ranking eighth. They dropped eight spots on the perimeter after a rough outing averaging 36.2% now ranking 13th.
De’Aaron Fox (knee) is questionable for Saturday.
Orlando Magic
Speaking of officials, the Magic sure got the benefit of the whistle on Thursday night getting 46 trips to the charity stripe including a 13-1 edge in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, the defending champions got less than a third as many attempts in spite of outscoring Orlando in the paint (52-46).
The Magic are performing well defensively. They allow 111 points per game ranking 13th but force opponents into low shooting percentages — 44.8 percent from the field (7th) and 33.8 percent from the perimeter (11th).
The issue for Orlando lies on the offensive end of the floor as the team struggles to score, producing 108.6 points per game ranking 27th. They are tied with the Wolves in 16th shooting 46.2 percent from the field.
The perimeter continues to be a major roadblock as they shoot an anemic 32.3 percent from deep ranking 27th ahead of only the Lakers, Thunder, and Clippers
Terrence Ross (knee) is questionable for Saturday. Mo Wagner (ankle), Cole Anthony (oblique), Markelle Fultz (toe), Jonathan Isaac (knee), and Gary Harris (knee) are all out indefinitely.

Free Sacramento Kings vs Orlando Magic NBA Prediction:
With so many injuries to the core of the Magic and a decided goal of tanking while the Kings are coveting a playoff berth, I’m leaning toward the Kings who also have the decided rest advantage.
