That sound the Kings hear is the Clippers creeping up on them from behind. Although Sacramento is still sitting third in the West the combination of their loss to the Pacers and the Clippers’ win versus the Knicks has narrowed the gap to 1.5 games.
Sacramento and LA have split the series so far with two games still to play against each other.
De’Aaron Fox wasn’t with the team in Indiana listed as “personal” but with his wife expecting their first child I’m thinking he may have been with her for the delivery. He remains out Sunday.
Fox was also stung by not being selected for the All-Star Game although teammate Domantas Sabonis got the nod. It wasn’t for a lack of trying (see below), but even if there is an injury replacement it’s hard to imagine another Nuggets player won’t get the tap ahead of Fox.

Perhaps the main reason for that is Brandon Ingram is getting his rhythm back after his extended 29-game absence.
In the five games he’s played since returning he’s averaged 22.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists with his best effort against the Lakers where he registered 35 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
The perimeter shot is still coming up short (3 of 20 for 15%) — a sign of him still working through the kinks of that toe injury.

Offensively, the Pelicans rank 13th for scoring averaging 114.8 points per game while shooting 47.7% from the field and 35.5% from the perimeter ranking 12th and 18th respectively.
Defensively, the Pelicans allow opponents to score 113.6 points per game, ranking 15th. New Orleans holds their opponents to 47.4% from the field ranking 19th and boasts the second-best perimeter opponent ranking 34.4%.
