The Kings are in Dallas on Saturday night and the Mavericks slaughtered the poor Pelicans on Friday night, 130–84.
DeAaron Fox gives the Kings something nobody else on the roster can replicate with his speed and ability to penetrate and then kick. He is averaging a team-high seven assists per game, which no one else on the roster is even close to.
With Fox out, Cory Joseph, the former Texas Longhorn, first round pick and NBA Champion with the San Antonio Spurs has been getting the major portion of the minutes but he just isn’t Fox.
Joseph played thirty-eight minutes against the team he won a championship with in 2014 in Sacramento’s last game and had just one assist and one rebound.
The Kings selected Ben McLemore seventh overall in the 2013 NBA Draft after an impressive freshman season at Kansas.
It never worked out in Sacramento. He played a lot and started from just about the start of his rookie season but he struggled from the field. His high-water mark came in his second season when he started all eighty-two games and scored twelve points per game on improved shooting.
From there, he slowly fell out of favor with the coaching staff and management and two years later he was with Memphis.
He signed with Houston this offseason and he’s scored at least twenty-four points in three of his last four games for the Rockets, including twenty-seven in a victory over the Suns on Saturday night.
McLemore reminded scouts of a young Ray Allen coming out of college, with a sweet three-point jump shot and impressive athleticism to finish above the rim in the open floor.
He came to Houston a career thirty-six percent three-point shooter so the Rockets had to think he’d at least fit in as a space shooter. Now with some confidence, McLemore is flashing his full potential.

Free Sacramento Kings vs. Houston Rockets NBA Prediction: Houston wins easy.
The Kings will be on a back-to-back and still on the road against a superior opponent. Sacramento is liable to not win again until it returns home, where it has a couple winnable games on the schedule.
Houston should be able to run the Kings ragged in this one and Russell Westbrook could take on the leadership role with his matchup against Joseph.
