Sacramento Kings
The Kings got the Celtics on the first leg of a back-to-back last week in Sacramento. The Celtics will get the Kings on the second leg of two games in two nights in this one on in Boston.

Sacramento defeated Boston by a point in the aforementioned spot, 100–99. Buddy Hield went for 35 points (7/12 three-point shooting) and the Kings became the first team to beat the Celtics since the 76ers in their first game of the season.
They also joined the Sixers as the only other team to hold Boston under 100 points by slowing the game down and grinding it to a halt.
That’s how the Kings have been playing of late, which has resulted in a game in the double-digits against the Lakers and in their last game against the Nets, which they lost, 116–97.
One of the lone bright spots in that loss to Brooklyn was Justin James, a second round pick out of Wyoming in this year’s NBA Draft. He had logged about 15 minutes over four games played coming into the night but played over 32 minutes against the Nets and scored a career-high 14 points.
With DeAaron Fox still out, the Kings have had to get creative to win games and playing a slower pace has provided some answers. They are 4–2 in their last six.
Boston Celtics
After five games out West, Boston will welcome the Western Conference to its city to start this week.
The Celtics went 2–3 on the road trip, beating Golden State and Phoenix but losing to the Kings, Clippers and Nuggets. Those three losses came by a combined eight points.

And the four-point loss to Denver came without the services of Kemba Walker for most of the night. Walker played just 12 minutes after colliding with a teammate and hurting his neck. He left on a stretcher and has been experiencing concussion-like symptoms.
It’s unclear whether Walker will miss time and, if so, how much, but the Celtics will miss him desperately if he does.
Gordon Hayward is already out and Boston was surviving without him but losing Walker would really stretch the offensive capability of this team. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown would have to do much of the work between the two of them and Brad Stevens would turn to guys like Brad Wanamaker off the bench.
It will have to be a total team effort to win this one without Walker but the Celtics do have that sort of unselfishness and next-man-up mentality in their DNA. It would surely feel like another game headed short of 200 though.
