Portland Trail Blazers
Portland started Monday’s night game in Cleveland by blowing out the Cavaliers. The Cavs have been showing some moxy lately, especially since Kevin Love’s return. They cut into the Blazers’ big lead but just couldn’t come all the way back.
The Trail Blazers held on to win by 13 points, which gave them three wins in a row to begin their season-long, seven-game road trip immediately out of the break.

They were without Evan Turner, who is questionable going forward with left knee soreness. Of course, he’s a former Celtic who got the big money Portland is paying him after a successful stint in Boston.

These are the two tough games for Portland on the trip, to Boston and to Toronto. Afterward, they finish at Charlotte and then at Memphis. Then, it’s two in a row at home and consecutive days off before hitting the road again.
As of now, they are holding onto the final spot in the top half of the Western Conference playoff picture.
Boston Celtics
Boston is in Toronto on Tuesday night so, while it will be at home for this game, it’s the second night of a back-to-back.
Aron Baynes could make his return, though, after missing more time after his first prolonged layoff as a Celtic before the All-Star Break. It would be nice to have two bodies to bang with Jusuf Nurkic and free up Al Horford a little bit, if Baynes can make his return.

Marcus Smart has been terrific as an outside shooter this season, at least relative to what Celtics fans have grown used to. His percentage is still above 35, despite taking a bit of a hit lately. He’s just seven out of his last 34 from deep.
This will be the first of three in a row at the TD Garden for the C’s. Washington and Houston are coming next and then it’s off to the West Coast, starting in the Bay.
