On Wednesday, March 9th, the Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz will meet for the third of their four matches this season. Utah won both prior matches on November 29 (129-107) and December 29th (120-105). Portland will host the final meeting on April 10th.
Both teams played on Monday with Portland getting absolutely crushed 81-124 by the Wolves while Utah lost 103-111 to Dallas.

Anfernee Simons (quad), Justise Winslow (Achilles), and Eric Bledsoe (Achilles) are all questionable to play on Wednesday in Utah.
Didi Louzada Silva (knee), Jusuf Nurkic (plantar fasciitis), and Damian Lillard (abdominal) are out indefinitely which likely means they are shut down for the season. Joe Ingles (ACL) and Nassir Little (shoulder) are out for the season.

That the Jazz were held to 103 points winning only the final frame when the game was already in hand for the Mavericks. Ironically it’s the Mavericks who delivered the better overall defensive effort with free-flowing offense — which is what the Jazz typical try to do to opponents.
Donovan Mitchell scored 17 points on an inefficient 5 of 19 while Mike Conley shot 1 of 7. Rudy Gobert delivered a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Bojan Bogdanovic was the most efficient Jazz player scoring 21 points on 7 of 11 and Jordan Clarkson scored 19 off the bench.
Dallas offered the strategy for how to defend the Jazz who should revisit involving Gobert more in pick and roll. That he got only five shot opportunities played right into the Mavericks’ hands.
Granted, Quin Snyder may be holding back schemes knowing they could face Dallas in a first-round series however the loss by the Jazz meant Dallas pulled within a half-game of overtaking them for the fourth seed and home court.
The Jazz are fully healthy with no players on the injured reserve list.
