Portland Trail Blazers
Portland has played twice since the All-Star Break and lost twice by nearly 70 points, combined.
The laundry list of injuries continues to grow. Justise Winslow missed the most recent loss against Denver and is day-to-day with an Achilles problem.
Nassir Little was ruled out of the rest of the regular season on Monday as he plans to have shoulder surgery.
Those injuries are on top of Damian Lillard, Eric Bledsoe and Jusuf Nurkic, who are all out for the foreseeable future.
Anfernee Simons is the go-to guy now at the ripe old age of 22. He’s in his fourth season and more than doubled his scoring average this year, up over 17 points per game.
Portland beat the Suns in the first of their four matchups this season way back in October. Then Phoenix won the next two in November and December.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns come into this game on a losing streak for just the third time this season. In the previous two instances, Phoenix won to avoid a three-game losing streak.
Phoenix lost at home to Utah over the weekend, 118–114. Devin Booker led all scorers with 30 and both Cameron Johnson and DeAndre Ayton chipped in 23 in the loss.
Of course, everyone has to be a little better to combat the loss of Chris Paul, who has a broken thumb that the Suns can only hope won’t keep him out through the whole month of April.
But Cameron Payne has remained out longer than the team initially thought he would, which has only complicated the matter.
That could be one less headache for Head Coach Monty Williams when he returns for this game, as reported, however.
He has been out for roughly six weeks with a wrist injury. Prior to going down, he was averaging 10.5 points per game backing up Paul.
Payne’s role will be different without Paul available but the Suns will welcome him back. Phoenix still has a six-game lead over Golden State in the Western Conference.

Free Portland Trail Blazers vs. Phoenix Suns NBA Prediction:
Phoenix hasn’t lost three in a row all season and it isn’t likely to here in this spot, either.
But that doesn’t mean the Suns aren’t vulnerable. They simply aren’t the same team without Paul and Payne may have some rust to shake off in his return.
So look for Phoenix to be laying a bunch of points and to come up just short in trying to cover them all.
