Memphis Grizzlies
In order to combat Nurk Fever, the Grizzlies need to force the big man to shoot jumpers. Truth is, the Bosnian Beast is actually hitting those shots right now, but it’s a much better strategy than letting him get what he wants at the rim.
Nurkic may not have a full arsenal of weapons down low, but he’s become extremely confident and efficient with his spin-to-baby hook and the Grizz would much better have him operate out of the elbows or the three-point-line-extended top of the arc.

If Memphis can successfully do this, the next step is not allowing guys like Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and even Jake Layman to come off curls comfortably and set up for open shots. Nurkic is a great passer from up top, meaning he can create for others even if he tries out his jumper early and it doesn’t fall.
The Grizzlies need to start with Nurk but then hone in on the perimeter players. Because the truth is, as deep as this Blazers team looks compared to years past ahead of postseason runs, it still remains true that the head of the snake starts with Lillard.
