Now two games into his Trail Blazers tenure, Kanter has proved to be an immediate impactful presence. Against the Brooklyn Nets, he shot 8-of-9 and scored 18 points while collecting nine rebounds in just 20 minutes.
Against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, Kanter had another good showing, going 6-of-14 from the field en route to 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists in just 21 minutes.

Against Cleveland, the Blazers should have another great opportunity to not just get Kanter comfortable in the system, but head coach Terry Stotts will have a chance to try out different lineups to see who works best with the newcomer.
The Cavs will be a scrappy opponent, but their inexperience will let Stotts figure out who is best paired with Kanter and who is best paired with starting center Jusuf Nurkic.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers are in a peculiar position at the moment. They still have no interest in winning games, instead focusing on ping-pong balls and lottery positioning with every loss that comes their way. They currently sit in the Eastern Conference’s penultimate position, only besting the New York Knicks, who have lost all but just one of their last 10 contests.
But here’s the catch: Kevin Love is back and he’s clearly making the Cavaliers better.
Don’t confuse that with them being good. The Cavs are still a rebuilding team with a lot of holes in the roster that won’t be filled any time soon. But Love makes them competitive on any given night with his ability to spread the floor and create extra possessions.
