It was a wasted effort given Devin Booker scored 39 points along with three assists and seven rebounds. Booker was ejected from the game with less than two minutes remaining in the match.
Deandre Ayton posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Mikal Bridges posted 15 points while Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in with 11 points.

In the loss, Julius Randle delivered a 25 point, 15 rebound double-double. RJ Barrett registered a 22 point, eight rebound effort. Bobby Portis pitched in with 20 points and eight rebounds while Kevin Knox added 10 points as the only other double-figure contributors.
On the season the team leaders for New York are Marcus Morris Sr. for scoring with 19.1 points, Julius Randle for rebounding (9.2) and assists (3.3) and RJ Barrett for steals (1.1). Mitchell Robinson leads the team in blocks (1.7) and field goal percentage (71.3%).
Marcus Morris Sr. hurt his neck in the game versus the Clippers and has since missed the last five games with no definitive return date.
Dennis Smith Jr. missed the last nine games with a left oblique strain while Frank Ntilikina has missed the last two games due to a sore groin. Both are questionable for the match versus the Suns.
