Monday, November 4th finds cross conference foes the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns facing each other for the first time this year.
Last season, the squads played their typical two games with the 76ers winning both matches. The Suns hold the all-time record having bested the 76ers in 67 of their 125 matches.

Although the 76ers put themselves in a hole of 21 points to the Blazers they clawed back and won the match with an improbable hero.

Philly played without their star Joel Embiid due to his suspension for his role in the wrestling match with Karl-Anthony Towns. In his absence, the 76ers rallied and Furkan Korkmaz stepped up to hit a 3-point shot to maintain the 76ers perfect record and remain the only unbeaten squad in the NBA.
The addition of Al Horford in the offseason allows the 76ers flexibility upfront. He moved into the center role for the Portland match and led the team with 25 points.
Five other Sixers reached double-digit scoring including Tobias Harris (23), Ben Simmons (18), Josh Richardson (17), Mike Scott (12) and Korkmaz (11).
Embiid will complete his suspension by sitting out this game. Shake Milton is also expected to miss the match with a knee contusion and mild sprain.
Phoenix Suns
The most surprising club of the early season is undoubtedly the Phoenix Suns who have found an identity with new head coach Monty Williams providing the direction.

In addition to Williams’ strong leadership, the veterans added this offseason has provided a far better balance to the team. Each of Ricky Rubio, Aron Baynes, and Dario Saric have added value either in production or leadership (or both).
In their last outing, Devin Booker led the team in scoring with 21 points although Aron Baynes was just behind him with 20 points. The quartet of Kelly Oubre Jr. (15), Frank Kaminsky (14), Ricky Rubio (11) and Mikal Bridges (10) each chipped in with double-digit scoring efforts.
An area the Suns still need to clean up is fouling as their opponents take the most free throws. Despite the veteran presence on the club, this is an area requiring dedication, focus, and patience.
Kelly Oubre Jr. is suffering from right adductor soreness but expected to play. Ty Jerome won’t play due to a sprained right ankle and Deandre Ayton is still serving his 25 game suspension.

Comparatively the 76ers rank 12th, sixth and fifth respectively. The big difference is much of the 76ers success is linked to Embiid while Ayton has appeared in a single game prior to his suspension.
