Season Series
Philly swept the regular season series winning on November 22nd (115-106), January 25th (137-133), February 11th (101-98), and April 9th (134-105).
Last season, the squads played four times with the Nets taking three of the four contests. The 76ers hold the advantage all-time having won 123 times of the club’s 211 meetings.
Philadelphia 76ers
Fans of the 76ers frequently travel to Brooklyn for games and no doubt there will be brooms in the stands on Saturday as they seek to sweep the series.
Game 3 was an odd match where Joel Embiid got away with a kick to Nicolas Claxton’s groin that should’ve witnessed him ejected while James Harden appeared to elbow Royce O’Neale’s groin (although that was less obvious) and was ejected for the action.
Philly was annoyed by the Harden ejection (which is fair) but it’s the Nets who should be furious that Embiid wasn’t tossed and his infraction occurred much earlier in the contest.
Another notable is how frequently Embiid was on the ground, with it appearing to be a tactic of the big man to draw the ref’s attention to him to gain free throws.
It’s not a bad ploy because when you’re as big as Embiid the refs are less likely to make a call even though it’s legit just based on his size.

Injury Report
To summarize the injury report…
- Joel Embiid C (probable — back)
- Danuel House SG (questionable — illness)
Brooklyn Nets
Game 3 offered the best showing of the young Nets with two groin shots having a dramatic impact on the match. They led for much of the contest but in the end, the loss belongs to them.
With Harden leaving in the third quarter and Embiid laboring with a sore back they had a golden opportunity to get back in the series.
A series of mistakes to finish the game though ended that dream as Embiid blocked Dinwiddie, Tyrese hit the go-ahead 3-pointer and Brooklyn turned the ball over.
Aside: if you see Joe Harris’s picture on a milk carton it’s because he’s gone missing!
Stats
Brooklyn allows 112.5 points ranking 10th and possesses the fourth-best opponent field goal percentage of 46.3% but ranks 21st on perimeter defense as foes shoot 36.7% from deep.
Brooklyn scores 113.4 points per game ranking 20th while shooting 48.7% from the field and 37.8% from the perimeter ranking seventh and fifth overall.
Injury Report

Free Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets NBA Prediction:
Although Embiid is clearly bothered by a sore back it’s doubtful he’ll miss this game especially since Philly can wrap up the series giving him a few days to rest up in between the next series.
Brooklyn had their best shot of getting into this series in Game 3 and blew it so while this young crew won’t quit the call of Cancun may be too hard to ignore.
