Monday, May 1st the semi-finals between the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics tips off. Philly got some extra rest as the only club to sweep their first-round opponent while the Celtics took six games to dispense of the Hawks.
Ironically both teams tried to secure the top seed to avoid having to play two of the three best teams (record-wise) but Miami took care of the Bucks so now the winner will face either the Heat or the Knicks.

At this time, the 76ers are 51-34-1 overall against the spread this season. Also, they are 24-18-1 ATS as the away team. Additionally, the Celtics are 49-38-1 against the spread this season. Also, they are 26-18 ATS as the home team

Boston won the season series 3-1 with victories on October 18th (126-117), February 8th (106-99), and 25th (110-107) while the 76ers took the final meeting 103-101 on April 4th.

Boston surely won’t take the Sixers for granted like they did (at times) with the Hawks but Joe Mazzulla will need to make sure they don’t just assume they’ll win if Embiid can’t go.
Something to keep an eye on in this series is the perimeter shooting of the Celtics. When they shoot 40 percent or better they are 37-3 but when they shoot below that mark they’re 27-25.
