*Editor’s Note: Statistics and rankings are current as of this writing, Saturday evening, January 21st. Numbers may vary slightly entering games on Sunday, January 22nd.
New York Knicks
The Knicks suffered their third consecutive loss and felt the absence of Mitchell Robinson who is their paint protector.
Robinson will be out for at least three weeks after having surgery to repair a broken thumb.
Julius Randle led the way for the Knicks flirting with a double-double (32 points, nine rebounds) but did all his damage in the first three quarters failing to net a single point in the final frame.
Stats
As can be seen,, New York excels at limiting opponents with the third-best opponent field goal percentage of 45.2% and the third-lowest perimeter percentage of 34.3%.
Also, they complete the big three stat line ranking eighth overall for opponent scoring with 112.0 points per game).
So far, offensively, the Knicks score 114.3 points per game (14th). Also, New York shoots 45.6% from the field ranking 24th, and 33.9% from the perimeter ranking 25th.
Mitchell Robinson (thumb) is out.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors keep finding new ways to lose and Saturday the blame falls on head coach Nick Nurse.
First, Grant Williams was lying on the hardwood but instead of letting the Raptors push the ball in transition five on four Nick Nurse called a timeout extinguishing their advantage.
Then, in the closing minute, Nurse asked if he could challenge the jump call thinking Siakam was fouled – the ref said if he called a timeout he could to which he agreed.
Seconds later Malloy told Nurse he couldn’t challenge so Nurse asked to rescind the timeout but the first ref refused saying ‘you asked for a timeout’. It erased the Raptors’ final timeout and removed the potential to challenge.
Stats
On offense, the Raptors score 112.5 points per game ranking 22nd while shooting 44.9% from the field to rank 29th and 33.2% from deep ranking 28th overall.
Defensively, the Raptors allow 112.5 opponent points per game ranking 12th while shooting 48.8% from the field ranking 27th, and 37.0% ranked 26th.
Injury report is yet to be submitted but OG Anunoby left mid-way Saturday after jamming his ankle he likely joins Dalano Banton (hip) as questionable.
Otto Porter Jr. (toe) out for season. Christian Koloko, Ron Harper Jr., and Jeff Dowtin Jr., are on G League assignment.

Free New York Knicks vs. Toronto Raptors NBA Prediction:
It’s the Raptors’ turn to have the rest disadvantage completing a back-to-back although facing the Celtics on the front side was a much more difficult task than the Knicks’ opponent (Pistons) last week.
It’s sort of surprising the Raptors are the favorite given New York was idle Saturday and has a healthy contingent to suit up Sunday.
