On Friday, March 11th, the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies play the second and final time this season. The Grizzlies took the match in New York winning 120-108 with Ja Morant putting on a show for the Mecca.
The Knicks are on a current three-game winning streak having last played on Wednesday in an absolute beatdown of the Mavericks (107-77) while the Grizzlies beat the Pelicans 132-111 on Tuesday.
Last season the clubs played twice with the Knicks winning both contests. The Grizzlies hold the all-time record with 25 wins in 49 matches versus the Knicks.

Suddenly with the play-in seemingly almost out of reach, the Knicks are playing their best ball of the season with consecutive wins versus the Clippers, Kings, and Mavericks.
Not coincidentally, it’s also been tied to RJ Barrett and Julius Randle both performing well and the Knicks finally committing on the defensive end of the floor.
That was clearly on display Wednesday as the Knickerbockers swept the Mavericks and held Dallas to a season-low 34 first-half points.
Moreover, New York held the Mavs to 13.6% from the perimeter (6 of 44) and 31.4% from the field overall. The former, also a season-worst mark for Dallas.
If you missed the game and only saw the score it would’ve hinted that perhaps Luka Doncic sat but he participated and was the only Mavericks to reach double-digits (31 points).
All five Knicks starters scored in double-figures plus Taj Gibson (11). Randle led the way with 26 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while Barrett offered 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Alec Burks (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Mitchell Robinson III (11 points, 11 rebounds) each registered double-doubles.
Cam Reddish (shoulder), Quentin Grimes (knee), Nerlens Noel (foot), and Obi Toppin (hamstring) are all questionable for Friday. Derrick Rose (ankle) is out indefinitely while Kemba Walker was shut down for the season.
Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies bounced back from an embarrassing loss to the Rockets via a rout of the Pelicans. As per typical Ja Morant led the way registering 24 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and a block.
Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. each scored 22 points with Bane also pitching in five rebounds and six assists while triple J added three rebounds, a steal, and three blocks.
The trio of Ziaire Williams (16), DeAnthony Melton (14), and Brandon Clarke (12) were the other double-figure contributors.

As for seeding, Memphis is a half-game up on the Warriors holding the second seed while the Knicks are 3.5 games back of the Hawks and Hornets for the final play-in seed.
With the Knicks finally committing defensively the 10 point spread seems a tad rich, but recalling the original meeting Memphis won that match easily and each time New York would draw near they would just pull away again.
Odds are the Grizz try to take it to New York from the tip knowing New York is at the end of a long road trip with just one more game after this one (Nets) to play before they return home. For that reason, I’m taking the Grizz as well as that rich 10 point spread.
