So much for the pundits who predicted this last injury was a sign of the beginning of Nikola Jokic’s regression. His triple-double should’ve put all the naysayers at bay for now.
More importantly, this team will dramatically improve once Gordon and Watson return, which, based on the injury report, is imminent. As noted above, Gordon is listed as a game-time decision.
Denver has played well in back-to-back sets and brings a 9-4 record in the second matches of these sets to the court on Friday.
The Nuggets finally got over the hump, collecting their first consecutive wins since the end of January. Typically, I’d be leaning toward the Knicks given the rest advantage, but I’m not confident they can manage Jokic.
With that, I like this to be a competitive game with the Nuggets pulling out the win in clutch time.
