This could be a letdown spot for Philly.  They have been in some big games of late including Boston the night before.

New Orleans has sunk to being one of the worst teams in the league and the saviour is not quite ready for game action.

Even if the 76ers are not totally focused or into this one they should still be able to get the game.

New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans have lost ten games in a row coming into this one. More than a few have been close as this team is just undermanned. The effort is there.

They are still waiting on their prize rookie to hit the floor but I am not sure we will see Zion Williamson until after Christmas.

They do have another couple of first round picks they were looking to count on but the numbers just haven’t been there for Jaxson Hayes or Nickeil Alexander-Walker.  Hayes is proving that he can defend at an NBA level.

Instead the greatest beneficiary of Williamson being hurt is Brandon Ingram, who lead the team in scoring.

I thought that would be Jrue Holiday and it will be interesting to see how Williamson affects the games of both players.

When he returns it might not yield immediate results in terms of wins and losses but it should provide some juice to make sure that effort level stays high throughout the season.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Pels will be hoping that Philly takes their eye off the ball after back to back to back games against the Raptors, Nuggets and Celtics. All real contenders.

This is being written before the conclusion of their game against Boston and if they lose they could be a little ornery.  To me it looks like a natural spot to rest Joel Embiid too.

When Embiid sits that usually is a boon to the production of Ben Simmons. Josh Richardson is back and it might help his game too. They have not gotten a ton from him this season. His first in Philly.

They could not have asked for more from another player also making his Philly debut this season in rookie Matisse Thybulle.  Known for his defensive prowess as a collegian he has proven that he can make shots in the NBA.  The 76ers have really needed that.

I think they lose so this becomes a perfect teachable moment for Philly.  The number might be really big though so it might be worth taking a pass.
