Free New Orleans Pelicans vs. Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Prediction:
Sunday, March 8th, the New Orleans Pelicans take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the club’s third meeting of the season. Each team has won a game with the Pelicans winning the initial contest on December 18th (107-99) and the Wolves taking the second meeting on March 3rd (139-134).
Last season, the teams played four times with the teams splitting the games. The Pelicans hold the all-time record having bested the Timberwolves in 32 of their 60 matches
New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans are four games back of the Memphis Grizzlies but haven’t given up their desire to get a playoff berth. They have the best schedule of the teams vying for the eighth seed.
This partially due to the easier opponents on tap but also because they’ll get to play the current eighth seed the Memphis Grizzlies and team in ninth the Sacramento Kings twice each before season end.

The Pelicans aren’t making things easier on themselves with losses to Lakers, this Wolves squad and Mavericks. They finally got back on the winning side of the equation with a big win over the Miami Heat on Friday.
In the win, Jrue Holiday led the way with 20 points. Josh Hart delivered a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Brandon Ingram had a rough shooting night (4 of 20) but came through in the end to score five crucial points to hold off the surging Heat. Ingram finished with 12 points.
Lonzo Ball offered 16 points, eight assists, and nine rebounds while Zion Williamson chipped in 17 points and six rebounds.
On the season, Brandon Ingram leads the team in scoring (24.4), and field goal percent (46.6%). Lonzo Ball for assists (7.0), Josh Hart for rebounds (6.5), Jrue Holiday for steals (1.1) and Jaxson Hayes tops the block (0.9) category.
Kenrich Williams is dealing with lower back soreness and is listed as questionable for Sunday. J.J. Redick will be out until mid-March with a hamstring strain.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker suffered a hairline fracture in his wrist which will keep him out an undermined time. Darius Miller continues to recover from a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Minnesota Timberwolves
The revamped Wolves wasted no time finding their offensive chemistry as they showcased in their 139-134 win over these Pelicans this week.
The issue is the defensive side of the court and if it’s even possible they got worse. That point was highlighted in their loss Friday as they allowed the Orlando Magic who struggles to put points on the board to score 132 shooting 60.7 percent from the field.
Malik Beasley led the team with 29 points. Naz Reid (16), Jordan McLaughlin (14), Jake Layman (14) and Jaylen Nowell (11) were the other double-figure scorers.
Karl-Anthony Towns leads three team categories including scoring (26.5 points), rebounds (10.8) and field goal percentage (50.8%). D’Angelo Russell is tops in assists (8.0) while James Johnson leads both hustle categories with 1.5 steals and 1.8 blocks.
Kelan Martin had to exit the Magic game with an ankle sprain and is unlikely to suit up Sunday. The fracture to Karl-Anthony Towns wrist will keep him out of action until mid-March. Evan Turner (personal) is out indefinitely.
