Anthony Davis has feasted on his former team in two meetings this season but this isn’t the same team the Lakers played early in the season primarily because Williamson is back but also the Pelicans were dealing with numerous player injuries.
The Lakers enter the match having won their last game versus the Boston Celtics in what was one of the best games played through this point in the season.
In the 114-112 win, it was the superstars LeBron James (29 points, nine assists, eight rebounds) and Anthony Davis (32 points, 13 rebounds) who led the scoring combining for 71 points.
Kyle Kuzma chipped in 16 points but more impressively played arguably his best defensive game of the year taking some minutes guarding Jayson Tatum who was on fire.
Dwight Howard was extremely physical in his minutes on the court and pitched in 10 points.
On the season Davis leads five key categories including points (26.8), rebounds (9.4), field goal percent (51.4%), blocks (2.5) and steals (1.5) while James is tops in assists (10.7).
Markieff Morris cleared waivers and signed with the team and should be available to play Tuesday.
