This matchup features two teams who have struggled all season long, as the Timberwolves travel to Washington to square off against the Wizards.
Minnesota is 2-5 in their last 7 games will Washington seems to be turning things around going 4-3 in their last 7.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota’s young roster full of promise has not lived up to their expectations of being a playoff spot contender this year. Can they turn things around before the All Star break?

Karl Anthony Townes continues to play like one of the best young players in the NBA. He is a cornerstone player and should continue to improve as the season progresses.
He is averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds per game this year and should receive an his first All Star game spot. In the T-wolves loss to Philadelphia Tuesday night he put up 23 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists.
Expect him to put up similar numbers against a weak Wizards front-line.
Andrew Wiggins saw his hot scoring streak come to a crashing halt against the Sixers. Before going into that contest he scored 23 or more in 5 straight, and also shot over 50% from the floor in each of those games.
Tuesday night he was just 2-15 and scored 8 points.
I will attribute that to simply a poor night shooting the ball, and he shouldn’t have any trouble getting back into a groove against the Wizards perimeter defenders.
Look for Wiggins to get 25 points and 6 assists in this one.

After a poor shooting performance against the Trailblazers on New Years Day, Zach LaVine dominated the Sixers all game long. The highlight reel machine scored 28 points on 11-20 shooting.
With Bradley Beal guarding him for most of the game LaVine shouldn’t have issues putting up points in this contest.
Washington Wizards
John Wall continues to fill up the stat sheet, and in a weak Eastern Conference I don’t doubt the Wizard’s ability to make a strong push for the playoffs this season.
He is averaging 23 points and 10 assists per contest and the Wizards are looking to turn the corner as the All Star break approaches.
He will be going up against talented defender Andrew Wiggins most of the night, but I still see Wall getting double digit assists and putting up 16 points.
Bradley Beal is averaging 26 points in his last 2 games, while also making 8 three pointers during this stretch.
His increase in scoring hasn’t resulted in wins, as the Wizards have lost their last 2 games but 10 and 8 points respectively.
Beal should continue his hot streak against LaVine and Ricky Rubio guarding him, but it would be surprising to see him make more of an impact on other aspects of the stat line.

Marcin Gortat continues to be one of the more underrated big men in the NBA. He is good defensively and can put up points as a viable 3rd or 4th option in the Washington offense.
He has put up a double double in 4 straight games and I expect this to be a 5th straight game even with Karl Anthony Townes defending him.
