The Timberwolves are off to a good start with both of their best players playing like All-Stars.
San Antonio is off to a terrible start, losing at a rate that has not been seen during the Gregg Popovich era.
Minnesota is no juggernaut though so the Spurs have a chance. Possible buying opportunity.

Minnesota is back over .500 after their win over Atlanta on Monday. That is a team they should beat easily, even on the road and they did.
The Timberwolves had no trouble with San Antonio in an earlier game, hading the Spurs a 15 point loss at the Target Center.

In the win, Andrew Wiggins scored 30 points. I don’t see a lot of Minnesota games but you don’t have to watch them to know he is having his most productive season ever.
Karl-Anthony Towns is just doing what he does but with some help this is a much better team. Towns is also putting up career-best numbers.
Point guard play can be an issue at times for this team. They have been bringing Jeff Teague off the bench and play a lot without a true floor general.
Teague and Robert Covington are both averaging 12ppg for Minnesota. Their biggest problem is that Towns is their best shooter. They would be so much better if they found someone who could create some space for him.
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs are in big trouble this season. They have fallen way off the pace and the West is so tough.

The story is not changing either. San Antonio has shown no real defensive chops this season and their offense is just adequate. I am not sure how either really changes either.
DeMar DeRozan and Lamarcus Aldridge are a nice base but they are not scaring anyone these days. More importantly, the supporting cast is either old or not established so you can focus your attention on them easily.
San Antonio needs either Derrick White or Djounte Murray to step forward and become that third guy. Until something like that happens this group will continue to struggle unless the defense improves.
