Free Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Dallas Mavericks NBA Prediction:
Monday, February 24th, the Minnesota Timberwolves play the Dallas Mavericks for the second time this season. Dallas won the initial December 4th meeting (121-114).
Last season, the teams played three times with Dallas taking two of three in the series. The Mavericks hold the all-time record having bested the Wolves in 69 of their 120 matches
Minnesota Timberwolves
With both Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell out of the lineup on Sunday the remaining Wolves gave it their best shot scoring 65 points in the first half.
That was the good news, the bad news was they gave up 73 to the Nuggets and in the end, they failed to win a single quarter losing the match 128-116.

In the loss, Jordan McLaughlin registered a double-double of 15 points and 10 assists. Bench player Kelan Martin led the Wolves scoring with 21 points.
Malik Beasley has taken to his new team without any hiccups and had another strong effort with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jarrett Culver (14), James Johnson (13), Naz Reid (13), and Josh Okogie (10) each put up double-figure scoring efforts.
On the season Karl-Anthony Towns leads scoring (26.5), rebounds (10.7) and field goal percentage (50.8%). D’Angelo Russell tops assists (9.7) while James Johnson is tops in the hustle categories with 1.7 steals and 2.0 blocks.
D’Angelo Russell missed the Nuggets match to rest his sore knee but is probable to play Monday. Allen Crabbe (personal) also missed the prior game and is listed as questionable.
Karl-Anthony Towns is expected out until early March while Jake Layman (toe) and Evan Turner (uncertainty over future with team) will also both miss this match.
Dallas Mavericks
The majority of the season Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis searched to find organic chemistry with both excelling simultaneously. Ironically, while Doncic was out with his ankle injury it seemed to flip the switch for the unicorn who became more aggressive offensively.
That newfound comfort continued when Doncic returned and although an extremely small sample they seem in sync now. They combined for 57 points, 20 rebounds and eight triples in the win over Orlando.
Both were out against the Hawks as Doncic sore ankle is lingering and Porzingis sat for rest. Despite the duo’s absence, the Mavs built a 14 point lead but suffered more anguish when Jalen Brunson dislocated his shoulder 12 seconds into the match.
Atlanta won via controversy; a goaltending call was made by the officials who then backtracked to say it was an inadvertent whistle. Instead of jumping the ball they allowed John Collins follow through after the whistle to count effectively deciding the game.
Tim Hardaway Jr. led with 33 points while Seth Curry (22), Delon Wright (14), and Justin Jackson (10) provided double-digit scoring.
On the season Luka Doncic is the team leader in scoring (29.0 points), rebounds (9.6) as well as assists (8.6). Willie Cauley-Stein tops field goal percentage (67.6%) while Delon Wright leads steals (1.1) and Kristaps Porzingis tops the block category (1.9).
Doncic and Cauley-Stein (personal) who missed the last game are questionable while Porzingis is probable for Monday. Brunson and Dwight Powell (ruptured Achilles tendon) are out.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Timberwolves are 6-4 in last 10 head to head meetings
- The Mavericks are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 head to head contests
- Over Under is 3-7 in team’s last 10 head to head matchups
Free Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Dallas Mavericks NBA Prediction:
With uncertainty of who’ll play, it’s difficult to predict but only one team plays defense so I’m leaning toward the Mavericks winning but Wolves covering the spread.
