The trio scored 61 in Minnesota’s most recent game against Philadelphia, a 31-point loss at home.
That was James Harden’s first game with the 76ers and, just like with the Nets, he made a good first impression.
Harden only attempted 12 field goals, choosing to share with his new teammates. He finished with 12 assists and still managed to score 27, going 5-of-7 from three and 8-for-9 from the free throw line.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs lost their first two games of the season and then dropped another two in a row a week later.
Then there was a five-game losing streak the next month, which was November.
Since then, there have been just three mini losing streaks, the most recent of which came to an end with Cleveland’s 92–86 win over Washington on Saturday.
Lauri Markkanen scored 23, Cedi Osman 19, and Jarrett Allen 18 to go along with 14 rebounds.
Darius Garland did not play for a second game in as many since the All-Star Break.
He’s dealing with back soreness and the Cavaliers have not provided a timetable for his return.
Guys like Markkanen, Osman and Allen stepping up in Garland’s absence is just what Evan Mobley needs.
He continued his steady rookie season with a double-double against the Wizards.
And with Caris LeVert hoping to come back as soon as this week, Cleveland may yet have enough to see it through Garland’s absence.
