The Timberwolves have played better than they have in past years, but they still have not been great. I would like to see them get more consistent, but there is no guarantee of that.
This team has won three of their past five games. It has seemed like for the last few weeks they have found a groove and they will look to keep that up as the season gets deeper.
I really like the mix of players that is on this team. I still feel they will have to acquire another key guy on their roster if they want to be a contender because I do not feel what they have now is enough.
When I think of the best teams in the Western Conference, this team still has a long ways to go if they want to be in that mix. It is not to say they are not a good team, but they just are not elite yet.
Minnesota last played on Sunday, where they beat the Golden State Warriors by a score of 119-99. That was a very nice win for them over one of the better teams in the league.
Both Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell were held in check in their last game, but Karl-Anthony Towns had a good game. He finished the day with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks have simply not lived up to expectations this season. Given the players they have, they should have a better record than they do.
Atlanta currently has a record of 18-25, which puts them in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. Unless they get much better and other teams get much worse, I do not see this team getting that much of a better seed.
A year after making it to Eastern Conference Finals, these guys look totally lost. I just feel that teams are preparing for them better than they did last year and it is showing in the way they play.
This squad picked up a win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday by a score of 121-114. That was a very nice win for them over the defending NBA champions.
Trae Young was the leading scorer for them in their last game with 30 points and 11 assists. He got off to a slow start, but really got better when it mattered most, which led his team to the victory.

After picking up an impressive win over the Bucks on Monday, the Hawks will look to build off of that when they face the Wolves. It would be nice to see them get off to a better start to the game, which they have not alway done this season.
Before Minnesota can worry about this game, they will look to take care of their business against the Knicks on Tuesday. Even though they have not been great this season, getting a win over New York at MSG would be a good win for this group.
On Wednesday, I am interested to see how the Timberwolves play on the second night of a back-to-back. As we all know, teams are not usually fond of playing those such games.
