Milwaukee is sitting atop the East with a nice cushion.  This is the second of a back to back against a tough opponent though so it could be a spot for a stumble.

Utah always feels like one of those teams that plays its best against the best. Nobody wants to play them, especially in Salt Lake City.

Milwaukee needed overtime to dispatch Sacramento in their last game (this is being written before they play in Phoenix on Friday). That is not too bad but it was surprising how they let the Kings outscore them by 13 to force OT.

I wish I had seen the game because somehow Giannis was a nonfactor. He only scored 17 points in limited action and I am not seeing anything about injuries or fouls. I feel like there is more to the story though.

Amazingly four other players scored 20 or more, demonstrating the depth they have built around him they will need to go far in the playoffs. One of those was newly acquired Niko Mirotic.

Utah has no obvious foil for Giannis but in Rudy Gobert they have someone who will make it difficult for him at the rim.

This might be another one where the supporting cast has to play a more important role.

Utah Jazz

The Jazz have won three in a row and are coming off a great win at Denver. They got the balanced scoring they have been looking for all season long with Donovan Mitchell leading the way and four others getting 15 or more points. That is when they are at their best when Mitchell does not have to do too much.

Derrick Favors probably draws Giannis in this one and he should be able to solid. The key is not giving up on his offense – he has double-doubles in four of his last six games. The more he balances that matchup the better.

Milwaukee does a great job of pulling centers away from the basket with their shooting. Rudy Gobert is going to have to cover as much space as possible to help out Favors and others. He is capable of doing it for sure but the devil is in the details.
