This is the first post All-Star game for both squads who haven’t played since last Thursday when the Bucks suffered an embarrassing 110-113 loss to the severely depleted Grizzlies while the Wolves spanked the Blazers 128-91.

Doc Rivers had an interesting month as he assumed the helm in Milwaukee, ended up coaching the East All-Stars, and took a ton of heat in the press for his seemingly constant excuses for why the Bucks haven’t snapped into gear upon his arrival.
Making matters worse, the Bucks’ closing schedule is second only to the Suns as the hardest remaining. Milwaukee is 3-7 since Rivers took over and while the defense is showing palpable improvement it’s come at the cost of the offense regressing.

Diving into Milwaukee’s key stats finds them ranked fifth offensively (118.9), and 17th defensively (115.9) with a net differential of plus +3.1 which ranks tied for 10th overall. Comparatively, since Doc took over they rank 23rd, 10th, and 19th in those same categories.
Betting on the Bucks against the spread is a tricky proposition given their 21-35 record in that category.

Fuel got added to that fire in Indiana this weekend when Anthony Edwards first joked then attempted to shoot with his left hand only during the Skills Challenge, then later quipped ‘No one wants to come here and compete’ (re: All-Star Game).
In truth, Edwards was only saying the quiet part out loud, but for a youngster who could be the next face of the league, it left a bad taste.

Minnesota ranks 17th on offense (115.2) and first defensively (108.2) while they are a plus +7 net differential, ranking third overall.
