In what was deemed a potential NBA 2020 Finals matchup got a late tweak on Tuesday. Fans were excited as the current regular season MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Milwaukee Bucks were set to play the current NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and his Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
However, the Clippers advised they will sit Kawhi Leonard in the matchup for load management on the front end of a back-to-back set.

In the Bucks initial meeting with the Raptors Giannis Antetokounmpo put up his best performance of the season stating he was extra motivated.

This matchup with the Clippers was set to draw equal inspiration for the Greek Freak because it was Kawhi Leonard who drew the primary defensive assignment on him in the ECF and ended up with the hardware he truly covets.
While both these teams remain title favorites the fact Leonard won’t play takes a little shine off the match.
Antetokounmpo hasn’t rested on his MVP laurels averaging 27.7 points, 7.4 assists, 14 rebounds and 1.1 steals (all team highs).
This represents consecutive gifts for the Bucks who just played the Timberwolves without Karl-Anthony Towns who sat due to his suspension. But with six of their next seven matches on the road, Milwaukee is happily accepting these gifts.
It sure will be interesting at season end of the Bucks end up in first by one or two games and their Eastern counterparts end up losing to full strength Wolves and Clippers lineups.
Los Angeles Clippers
Like his Bucks superstar counterpart, Kawhi Leonard is hot to start the season posting averages of 29.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.3 steals which are also all team highs.

Ironically the Clippers were expected to be a stellar defensive club but through seven games it’s the offense (3rd) that is rolling while the defense (16th) is still a work in progress.
That said, the team has yet to play with Paul George which will add an entirely new component to the squad and conceivably upgrade their efforts on both sides of the court.
At season start George said he expected to miss 10 games and the team is saying they’ll reevaluate his status this coming week.
Although Leonard said he was healthy enough to play the entire season the Clippers seem to be emulating the exact load management schedule the Raptors used last season.
Leonard would typically sit in one of the two games in back-to-back series (usually the second night). LA has played one set with this being the second. When he sat against the Jazz it cost the Clippers the game and this could very well be another loss.
